Ribera Steakhouse in Gotanda is an Iconic and legendary place. More than a restaurant, it’s a museum. Looking at the pictures, while eating a steak and sitting on the same stool that so many wrestling legends sat at before, and being served by the same man that served them! Man, the stories that him and those walls could tell! If you’re a wrestling fan - this is a must.
View on GoogleGreat food and atmosphere. Yokozuna steak is the way to go. Steak sauce is unreal.
View on GoogleIn terms of the quality of food, it is awful. You can have much better-quality steak anywhere in Tokyo at a much cheaper price. But the worst part is hygiene. The cup was very dirty and not properly washed, so was steak dish. The master dipped his finger in the sauce. I am really puzzled by good reviews usually given by foreign wrestling fans. This place lives on its past.
View on GoogleIn Tokyo but needing a solid steak fix? This is the place. Large meat-eating men have vouched for this place for generations, you'll get a sizzling steak on a searing hot iron plate right in front of you, absolutely mouth-watering. Not for vegetarians...
View on GoogleFirst of all, there's not a lot of places in Asia that have good beef, let alone good steaks, but here at Ribera's, it's done perfectly. It's a small little place with only about 10-12 seats at a small bar facing the cook/server/cashier (all done by one man) and he's amazing. He doesn't care how you like your steak. You just tell him which one you want and he makes it and for those of us that like our steaks a little medium rare, it is cooked to perfection. They're served on a sizzling hot plate with a side of corn and a pat of butter on top. You also get a salad on the side and they've got a bowl of their secret sauce that I think you're supposed to slather on your steak (or that's what I got from watching other diners). We each got a cup of water and if requested, a plate of rice. This is a no frills kinda place, which is part of the charm in my opinion. It was so good that my husband and our friend ordered a second steak each. We really came to Ribera's because of their popularity in the wrestling world but what we walked away with was a full belly, great customer service, and wonderful memories of the best steak in Asia. We will be back!!
