Ordered right away. <Yakiniku Set Meal> ・S (single), small rice *Yakiniku: choose hearty or light Total 1,200 yen For the yakiniku, choose from the original hearty one or the light loin. This time I went hearty. The interior is small and cozy. Counter seats only. The spacing between seats and the depth are generous. 2 staff members. Managing somehow without the owner. That day, lots of S with medium rice. 12:45 Food arrived. The meat is thick but tender. The fat is sweet. Strong flavor. Plenty of grated ginger. The cabbage underneath is piled high. Even the small rice is plenty. The soup is quite light. Finished in no time. For when you have time to spare. Thank you for the meal.

I devoured the brutal yakiniku set meal at "Chuka Ryori Okuma" in Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, a 4-minute walk from Shinagawa Seaside Station! The shop's menu says "Yakiniku set meal only for the time being," but I was going for the yakiniku set meal anyway, so no problem! This time I ordered the "Yakiniku Set Meal Double with Medium Rice (1800 yen)". There's hearty meat and light meat, and with the double you can get both on one plate! Well, since I'm here, I want to eat both, right! By the way, there seemed to be a mistake when they took my order — normally it's piled boldly on one plate, but the hearty meat and light meat arrived on separate plates. This brutal yakiniku set meal has overwhelming impact, and the seasoning goes perfectly with rice. The hearty meat is tonteki (pork steak) style, and the light meat is shogayaki (ginger pork) style. Douse it with plenty of mayonnaise, and that outstanding sauce is irresistible! Devouring both meats on the rice was pure bliss. Under the meat is a bed of cabbage, and toward the end I mixed it with the sauce and mayonnaise, which makes another perfect finale. Finally, I finished off with the gently flavored soup! I'm Tokyo Bocchi, a solo diner going around eating delicious food I went to Okuma, which I'd seen many times on social media and had been curious about. About a 6-minute walk from Shinagawa Seaside Station, a place I got off at for the first time. I went around 13:30 on a weekday; there was only one group of customers, but several more groups came in afterward. Customers keep coming in even past lunchtime It seems the owner fell ill, so for now they've narrowed the menu down to just the yakiniku set meal. The female staff member carefully explained the menu. It seems you can choose the amount of meat, amount of rice, and strength of flavor as you like. Overall it has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned set meal restaurant All counter seats, the midday TV playing in the shop, cooking sounds coming from the kitchen — a really nice atmosphere. The dish I was curious about is super filling! Several large slices of pork shoulder loin on shredded cabbage. Very satisfying, and this sauce is so good the rice just keeps going.
