Gingin" (吟吟) @oomori_gingin A seafood izakaya popular with regulars! Saturday 18:30. We made a reservation and went as a group of 3. The place is in the basement. They seem to have a wide selection of sake. ・Draft beer ・5-item otoshi platter ・Assorted sashimi Barracuda, John Dory, black sea bream, bonito, emperor fish, harlequin sweetlips, sea bass, young bluefin tuna ・Namerō ・Assorted passion vegetables ・Premium fried local fish ・Adult potato salad ・Grilled local fish head Basically we couldn't order at our own pace and were made to wait quite a while. Yet they kept recommending all sorts of dishes. If so, they might as well just make it a course. They treated the regulars nicely, but for us first-timers it was like "please wait a moment" ×5, and we could barely even order drinks. It wasn't just one person, everyone was treated that way, so maybe that's just the restaurant's stance. The food was delicious, so it's a real shame. Thanks for the meal!
View on GoogleIt's a rather rude reason, but the place we were aiming for was full so we came here instead, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. They have a wide variety of sake and I got to try sake I'd never had before. The food was also delicious, and next time I come to Omori I'd like to visit again. The otoshi was the best! You could drink just with the otoshi alone! The staff's service was also good. Thank you very much!
View on GoogleA place with delicious snacks to go with sake. Be sure to reserve the sashimi in advance 🐟
View on GoogleIt had been a really long time, about 10 years, since my last visit, but it's still a great place. The sake lineup now has more of the original Gingin Special than before, which I really enjoyed. The snacks to go with the drinks were all delicious too, very satisfying. We started with the 5-item otoshi. It's really nice to be able to taste a little bit of various things. The assorted sashimi also had many kinds of fish, and it was great that you could enjoy different cuts too. Above all, the rare fried fish was exquisite. I drank a bit too much and the bill was fairly high, but I was very satisfied! Looking forward to next time.
View on GoogleI visited for the first time with a seat-only reservation. With fish dishes as the main focus, a wide variety of sake, and prices that aren't too high, we were able to have a delicious and fun time. There are also recommendations based on the day's purchases that aren't on the menu, so it's the best place for sake & fish lovers.
