Given the pricing, this is probably one of the best ramen places I've been to so far. The flavor was amazing, and the portion was big. They have quite the wide selection of different ramen dishes, and the people working there are pretty kind. I got a free side dish with my order.

I strolled over from 旗の台 Station for my first visit at around 11 on a day off. I liked the unique menu display out front, with handwritten menu items on the restaurant's original plates. I went in right when it opened, but there was already 1 person at the counter and 1 group at a table. I took a counter seat. It's basically a drinking, or eating-and-drinking, kind of place. I started by ordering a bottled beer too. The drinking group at the table casually ordered oolong mixers and lemon sours, although they weren't on the menu. After checking the menu for a while, I ordered ドラゴン焼きそば. The lady said, “It's spicy, you know?” and I said okay. Watching from the counter, I could see they used boiled noodles for the yakisoba. What arrived looked salt-seasoned at first glance, but tasted mildly spicy, a type you don't often see elsewhere. The yakisoba was tasty, and the small soup was good too. I walked to 荏原中延 afterward.

ドラゴン焼きそば is a mildly spicy, soy-sauce-based yakisoba. You could feel the heat, but it wasn't overly spicy. It was delicious. The restaurant is called 味の大王, but I don't know whether it's connected to 室蘭 or 苫小牧. Someone ask them, haha.

A neighborhood Chinese restaurant about an 8-minute walk from 荏原中延 Station toward 昭和大学. When I used to live really close by, I ate here after work or at lunchtime. I passed nearby for the first time in a while and stopped for dinner. The チャーハン&ワンタンスープ set was 1,030円. Moist, soft fried rice and a soy-sauce-based soup with chewy wontons. The same gentle flavors as before. Thank you for the meal🎵

On 昭和通り, which runs from 昭和大学 to 荏原中延 Station, there's a restaurant specializing in Japanese-style home cooking of Chinese food, steeped in the atmosphere of the Showa era, you know. I've never been to China, but surely its flavors rival those of an authentic Japanese-style home-cooking Chinese restaurant in Beijing. Beginners should start with 鳥の辛子炒め. レバ炒め is a good choice next. Its Showa-style home-cooked Chinese character shines more than レバニラ. On your 3rd visit, 鳥のチリ炒め is the way to go. Oh, ギョーザ is essential. Can't finish them? No problem. Ask for 2 or 3 and they'll make them. Just 1? Come back the day before yesterday. The toilet has been radically converted from Japanese squat style to Western seated style, so toilet enthusiasts might enjoy it too. After ordering, it's also nice to spend a while enjoying the scent of the good old Showa days. Lastly, I'd like to tell you that this restaurant actually opened in the Heisei era.
