If you are looking for an incredible 100% plant-based dining experience, Vegan Bistro Jangara is an absolute must-visit! Conveniently located just a short walking distance from Harajuku Station. Every single dish we tried was delicious, leaving us completely impressed. We ordered two set menus during our visit: 1. Vegan Karabon Ramen Set (served with a side salad and vegan gyoza): The ramen had a rich, flavorful broth with just the right amount of kick, paired perfectly with crisp salad and delightfully savory, crisp gyoza. 2. Grilled Soy Meat Burger Set: The soy meat patty was beautifully seasoned and grilled to perfection, making for a incredibly satisfying meal. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the service was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food came out surprisingly fast. Please note that the restaurant space is fairly small and very popular, so you might need to be patient and wait in line for a table. However, it is 100% worth the wait. Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike!
View on GoogleAmazing service as the staff is quick and helpful. Vegan Karabon, juju grill, and curry were all delicious! Karabon had spicy to the best level and the first one that I had in Japan at this level! 😋 Desserts were great too! Ordered all three available: Raspberry Mousse Chocolate Cake, Caramel Nut Mousse Cake, and lemon jelly!
View on GoogleWe went here for lunch. Can be a little hard to find. Look for the family mart on the main road, just opposite Harajuku station. Take the elevator to second floor, above the family mart. Can be crowded. But we got a table quickly. The vegan karabon and vegan kobonshan were both very good. I had the grilled vegetables with rice and curry, and it was very good.
View on GoogleWe ordered 2 lunch meal sets. The vegan karabon (milder version) with gyoza and the vegetable soy sauce ramen with side salad. The karabon was fine, creamy and the toppings were ok, nothing mind-blowing. The gyoza were quite tasty. The soy sauce ramen was also average, again good but not mind-blowing. We had better plant-based ramen a few days earlier at a different restaurant, so these were being compared to that one. All in all, it's nice to have a fully vegan restaurant option, but if I want really good ramen, this isn't my go-to destination
View on GoogleDefinitely not the best vegan ramen I’ve had but it’s a solid bowl. However, if you’re looking for a traditional Japanese ramen, I’d steer away from the featured spicy ramen. While it was good, it didn’t blow me away and the spiciness was not reminiscent of traditional Japanese ramen. The meat on top had good texture but not much flavor, so that could be improved. They also were a little skimpy on the toppings. If you’re in the Harajuku area it’s worth checking out, but I wouldn’t travel super far this meal. It can get really busy so you may have to wait for a table. To enter you can take the elevator or the stairs to the second floor.
