紫波 いわて牛Shabuzen-Shiwa
“Shabuzen Shiwa” offers a hideaway-like atmosphere between Shibuya and Harajuku. The most popular Tako Shabu Course centers on our signature “Tako Shabu,” made with giant Pacific octopus from Hokkaido, while our prized meat is “A5-grade Japanese Black wagyu from Iwate Prefecture.” Aged for 3 weeks, it lets you fully savor the meat’s rich flavor. We also offer a wide range of seafood, including “snow crab.” Our unique, specially made “stone pot” uses a stone called hornblende. This stone pot brings out the ingredients’ flavors to the fullest, creating a taste you can experience only here. Our homemade ponzu and sesame sauce have been made the same way since our founding; the ponzu has a refreshing flavor with reduced acidity to make the ingredients easy to enjoy, while the sesame sauce, …

An incredible dining experience - we did the traditional shiwa tasting menu, and each dish was such good quality and so tasty. They substituted the beef for crab (as I’m pescatarian), which was very kind, and all dishes were truly delicious. The broth is just boiling water, but the sauces and many dips they provide to have the meat with bring a ton of rich flavour. Nice sake selection, beautiful decor / ambiance and wonderful service by the whole staff. The dessert is a bit plain in line with some of the reviews, we got two pieces of Japanese pear, but we felt it’s a fitting end to a satisfying meal. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleThis was an absolutely delightful meal and experience. It was our groups first time doing Shabu Shabu and Yoneyama did an incredible job explaining the whole process and taking care of us. Truly a special and can’t miss place on the most chic street in Harajuku.
View on GoogleIt’s a stone-pot shabu restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The clear broth isn’t very flavorful on its own, but it goes really well with the ponzu dipping sauce. I really like the ambiance and the service.
View on GoogleExcelent experience! This was the best meat I have had, possibly ever. Their home made chilli oil was incredible. The wait staff spends the time to look after the customers. Recommend for anyone looking for fine dining at a reasonable price.
View on GoogleThis is a cool little hidden traditional shabu shabu spot in Harajuku. It is not a cheap place to eat as you can pay around 10,000 yen per person for specific sets. But wow… is it ever worth it! The Iwate beef is so tender and absolutely mouth watering. 100% worth it to try! They have a high end liquor collection available to try to top off your meal. This meal was one of my highlights during this trip to Japan. Worth a visit if you are in the area and are looking to splurge.
