One of the best Izakaya's I have visited so far. The small and cozy restaurant hada nice waiter and chef, which hadgreat service and hospitality. The food was very delicious where I chose the salmon belly. All the prices were 1200 yen per person, but whay you get is definitely worth it! Highly recommended after visiting Meiji shrine.
View on GoogleWow what an delightful hole in the wall. We found this place on a whim and it was seriously incredible. Wonderful vibe with vintage posters and sake bottles around and small menu which to me indicates they do what they do well. The salmon belly and fried chicken were incredible. The owner was so incredible too, he even made sure we got into our cab. English menu available.
View on GoogleHad a very weird experience here. We went in and asked in Japanese for a table for 2 and were told it was full. It was not even half full but we assumed they must be waiting on people with reservations. We stepped out and checked online to see if we could make a reservation for later. They seemed to be quite available for all times that night. So we booked a reservation for 10 minutes later. We went in and the food was good. Sort of just standard izakaya stuff. We saw a Japanese couple come in a few minutes after we did and were told they could come in but just needed to wait a minute. So that sure is odd how they had a different experience. Not sure I can say for certain this place is not welcoming of 外人 but you know there are a lot of places around that I don’t have to worry about so will probably just go there in the future.
View on GoogleThe lunch here was amazing! For only 1,100 yen you get a set lunch with free refills of miso soup and rice. I ordered the fatty salmon belly and the meat was buttery-melt-in-your-mouth and the skin was perfectly flavored and seared. The portion was huge. The place feels very local and not touristic and has a great authentic atmosphere. I enjoyed this so much! Highly recommended
View on GoogleI went there for lunch. They had several types of grilled fish on the menu. Food was tasty and the portion was good enough with a reasonable price.
