【A hideaway in 渋谷・円山町, a 3-minute walk from 神泉 Station】“酒とさか菜” is an izakaya for adults where you can enjoy Japanese cuisine and sake to your heart's content. Within walking distance of 渋谷 Station, this little-known hideaway sits in a quiet part of 円山町. Step inside to find a warm space with Japanese charm, where you can relax away from the bustle. Introducing our recommended dishes! The owner's approach is to make anything that goes well with sake. ・Exceptional whale sashimi Carefully selected with a focus on ingredients, this is our “exceptional whale sashimi.” Its melting texture spreads gently through your mouth and becomes addictive, with a pleasant sweetness on the tongue…

Tried this hole in the wall izakaya off the busy streets of Shibuya. No frills and creative menu. My highlights were the shark 3 ways, and the sake options. Food is good, service is great! Expect decently pricey spend however.

The chef was very kind and definitely had a positive attitude. His protege spoke English and tried his best to explain the dishes to me. Their original sake (a junmai daiginjo) was quite honestly beautiful. Highly recommended.

One of Tokyo’s finest nihonshu (sake) izakayas. It’s small, so reservations are a MUST. Super premium nihonshu including hard-to-find varieties and friendly expert service to help you choose ones you’ll like best. The food is delicious and unpretentious and pairs perfectly with nihonshu. The food menu is in English, but the excellent daily chalkboard specials are only in Japanese. Sake to Sakana is popular with nihonshu industry leaders, so you might even find yourself sitting next to the owner of the brewery who made the sake you’re drinking. Or you might be less lucky and just be seated next to me lol
