A great place for Indian and Thai food, one of the best cheese nan I have possibly tasted. They have amazing lunch set and more elaborate dinner menus. The owner "Karga" is super friendly guy and talks in English & Japanese. Always ask for his suggestions!
View on GoogleNice ethnic foods. Nepal, Hindi and Thai.
View on GoogleSmall snacks cost under 500円, so you can enjoy lots of dishes. The bean cracker called masala papad is supposedly something you can only taste in its native Nepal, yet somehow you can eat it in Suginami. Unlike Japanese curry, which has evolved in isolation under the mistaken belief that extreme heat makes curry authentic, you can enjoy the skill of blending spices here. Besides, chili peppers originate in South America and supposedly weren't originally in Indian curry. When I asked another Indian chef why he made it hotter than in India, he said it sells better in Japan the hotter it is. I'd really like those who fancy themselves food connoisseurs to go to India.
View on GoogleBoth the lunch and dinner menus have plenty of options, and everything is delicious! I also like the chef's and servers' endearing broken Japanese. Everyone is polite and kind.
View on GoogleSome people may initially feel hesitant because of the exterior. I hadn't gone in either until a friend told me the food was good. Now I get takeaway quite often, and my children (4 and 7 years old) love the curry here too; it's a restaurant we support. The children's favorite curry is mild butter chicken curry. The mild version is very sweet, so even small children have no problem with it. For an extra 250円, you can change the nan to cheese nan. It's packed with cheese and really delicious. For takeaway, I always place an advance order by phone before going. There aren't many customers in the restaurant, but Uber orders come nonstop, and you'll wait quite a while if you haven't ordered ahead. Please give it a try◎
