Perch by WOODBERRY COFFEE Daikanyama
WOODBERRY COFFEE (ウッドベリーコーヒー) Daikanyama is a small coffee stand of about 6 tsubo. The Daikanyama shop’s concept is a place like a “perch,” where you can briefly rest your wings during the day. We aim to be a coffee shop you want to visit every day. We welcome everyone daily with cheerful, friendly service. Accessible from anywhere, it is a 3-minute walk from Daikanyama Station, 7 minutes from Ebisu Station, and 8 minutes from Nakameguro Station. It’s a lovely area to explore with a coffee in hand.

I went to 9 specialty cafes during my 8-days Tokyo trip, and I think Perch by Woodberry tasted the best. It's a very small cafe (I think the name 'Perch' denotes to-go focused store from Woodberry) where maybe about 10 people max can sit at one time. Not for sitting for too long. But the flavor is not to be underestimated. The barista welcomed us to taste the aroma of each coffee bean. They're not snobbish about it; even championship beans can be made into iced lattes. He nicely explained the difference between the beans in terms of origins and flavor. Coffee was excellent. We ordered iced americano & iced latte and both were such a treat after walking around Daikanyama. As I sat here to find refuge from Tokyo's heatwave, more of the staff came and they were all very nice. When my wife was browsing their tumblers & to-go beans, they nicely told us, 'Don't hesitate to ask us any questions' very warmly. I wish Woodberry the best of luck in expanding their network against competition like Onibus, Verve, and the more established Blue Bottle & Arabica, because they deserve it.
View on Google⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Perch is an outstanding café and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional coffee. The service was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, with the staff taking the time to make every customer feel at home. The highlight of my visit was the **Seasonal Raspberry Coconut Espresso Cloud**—an incredibly creative drink that was beautifully balanced. The bright raspberry, creamy coconut, and rich espresso complemented each other perfectly, making it one of the most memorable coffee drinks I've had. A fantastic atmosphere, excellent service, and truly innovative coffee. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Tokyo.
View on GoogleAbsolutely loved this place. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience feel special from the start—they even offered me the chance to smell different coffee varieties before choosing, which was such a thoughtful touch. I went for the Ethiopia Siko, and it was beautifully brewed—light, floral, and full of character. I also tried the Sakura mousse cake (perfect timing with the start of the season), and it did not disappoint. The matcha cookie base added a nice texture, and the cherry-flavoured mousse was delicate and delicious. Honestly, such a cool and memorable experience. You can tell they really care about what they do. I’ll definitely be back.
View on GooglePerch by WOODBERRY COFFEE Daikanyama is a masterclass in how to do a small-footprint coffee shop right. Located just a short walk from the main Daikanyama area, it’s a quaint, charming sanctuary for serious caffeine enthusiasts. They roast their own beans, and the quality is evident from the first sip—the latte art is beautiful, but the depth of flavor in their espresso is the real highlight. The baristas are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making it feel like a true neighborhood spot rather than a transient cafe. It’s the perfect place for a quick grab-and-go or a mindful break after a morning of shopping. Don’t forget to check out their retail bean selection; the packaging is as refined as the roast.
View on GoogleSpectacular iced pour overs! Amazing flavors to their coffee and the baristas were very helpful at explaining the differences between the coffees. Easy to recommend this place for a great coffee experience.
