The weather was very hot and the family was feeling the heat and also need the restroom while wandering around OmoteSando. Chanced upon this cafe Onden Coffee and decided to drop in because their board outside had a picture of 3 matcha lattes that looks so good…. Ordered the standard version of their matcha latte and when we took the matcha latte from the counter, we were surprised that we were offered sugar syrup and we rejected the offer. Only when we had our first sip and then we realised why we were offered the capsule of sugar syrup. The matcha was so strong, robust and bitter… the taste reminds me of the traditional matcha that was served in Kyoto minus the foam that was stirred up in the traditional tea ceremony. This latte was so good. We added one capsule of sugar syrup and the taste was just nicely bittersweet. A surprise gem of a find. Definitely worth another visit if I am in Tokyo Omotesando again. Qualifier on the ratings. Am rating this cafe very high just based on the matcha latte that we had. This is a coffee joint so need to consider the coffee but we never had coffee here.

Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and a lovely patio. We enjoyed pressed sandwiches and coffee and hot chocolate. They have delicious cheesecakes that are just the right size for a treat.

It's disappointing and irresponsible not to disclose all ingredients on the menu. I ordered the potato, spicy roe, and cheese sandwich, assuming it would be suitable for a pescetarian diet. However, it unexpectedly came with a slice of ham. While I was able to eat it despite my strong reservations, others who avoid pork for religious or personal reasons would not have had that option. The menu descriptions need a complete overhaul to ensure transparency and respect for dietary restrictions. Aside from that, the food and drink were decent enough.

A very nice neighborhood location with other cafes & shops nearby. This cafe opens way earlier compared to the other cafes that open at 11am. We tried their cafe latte and matcha latte. They don’t add any sweetener because you can customize it yourself with the syrup they provide.

Well hidden from the crazy crowded street. The coffee was good. Each table placed very close to each other, which is the only downside. But the washroom was very comfortable. Love it.
