Usually, you have to wait for 30 minutes to an hour to get in, but since it happened to be 3 PM on a weekday, there was no line and I was able to enter immediately. Their tantanmen is famous, so I ordered it and chose spice level 5 (medium spicy). While it was delicious, I was a bit disappointed because the medium spice level was milder than I had expected. It tasted more like a regular ramen than a tantanmen. If I come back again, I will try it with spice level 7 (very spicy).
View on GoogleWe tried both the hot ramen and cold ramen . The hot one had more spice, but it was definitely manageable. The broth was rich and flavorful. The staff seemed to really enjoy their work, staying energetic and enthusiastic whenever a dish was ready. The dining area had a strong smell of oil and food, giving it a cozy, home-style feel.
View on GoogleVery Recommended for Spicy Lover. Nice Spicy ramen Pretty nice ramen. Its a more chinese influenced style of ramen with very thin noodles, lots of cabbage and pretty spicy soup! The ramen is ranked from 0-10 flames however they don't have many low spice options (I think there was one option at 0 flames and the next one was 3 flames). I got a Nortpole (hokkyoku 9 flame) ramen and it was very spicy. I typically eat a lot of spicy food so it wasn't too hot for me. If you are a fan of spicy food and ramen then I highly recommend this place.
View on GoogleGot the #5 on the English menu, which is #1 with extra vegetables. Not too hot if you’re used to spicy food (I think the restaurant rates this 6/10 on their heat scale). Good portion, flavorful broth, and no line when I went at 3PM on a weekday.
View on GoogleI went to Nakamoto for the first time in like over a decade. Didn’t think it would be crowded since it was after 4pm, past prime lunch time, but then there was a queue. However, the line moved smoothly and we were able to get seated within 10-15 minutes. Good operation. We ordered one regular Nakamoto ramen, the ladies set (with Hokkyoku meaning the North Pole) and some side dishes, and shared these by two people. It was so delicious that we’ll probably go there again soon, but got diarrhea after 6 hours and 11 hours…..
