View on GoogleA convenient yakiniku restaurant in Sasazuka that's open until late at night. ・Joshu wagyu kalbi 1,380円 ・Salted beef tongue 1,680円 ・Beef harami 1,380円 ・Urute 830円 ・Green onion salad 680円 ・Green onion rice (medium) 450円 ・Toppoki 830円 The kalbi is tender, with a distinct sweetness from the fat. The salted tongue is easy to eat and reliably delicious too. The crunchy, chewy texture of the urute is especially addictive. The green onion rice is highly recommended; paired with the meat, you just can't stop eating it. You can enjoy a proper yakiniku meal even late at night, and the prices are reasonable. A place worth remembering for yakiniku in Sasazuka.
View on GoogleThere are so many yakiniku places around Sasazuka Station that I couldn't decide…in the end, I tried this one. Misuji…delicious, and the meat is tender…but the fat was a little too much lol. Sasami was listed as premium kalbi, but this one wasn't as rich and had that meaaaty feel. It was really good. We also had some wagyu something-or-other, pork loin something-or-other, assorted vegetables, and so on. After drinking, the bill came…and I thought, huh⁈ Is it really this cheap? Apparently they're open until late, which is great for night owls.
View on GoogleWhen I wanted yakiniku in Shinjuku, I looked for a place that was open late and ended up visiting 「焼肉もーとん」. Overall, I was very satisfied, and I thought it was particularly convenient for being able to “eat genuinely good yakiniku even late at night.” Shinjuku has so many restaurants that it's often hard to decide where to go, but when you want somewhere “easy to visit late at night for delicious yakiniku,” I think this deserves a spot on the list. First, it's nice that it's close to the station. Shinjuku is huge, so depending on the restaurant, you sometimes have to walk quite a distance from the station or go deep into Kabukicho. This place was relatively accessible and within an easy distance after work or drinks. It's also convenient for meeting up, and I think it's an easy location to gather when you decide, “Let's have yakiniku today!” What was especially helpful for me personally was that it's open late. I often finish work late or look for food after other plans, so I really appreciate a place that's properly open late at night. Especially around Shinjuku, surprisingly many restaurants have already finished taking orders or closed at late hours, so there's a reassuring feeling of “They're still open!” It seemed handy for going with coworkers after work or when the conversation turns to “What should we do for food now?” The interior had a fairly approachable atmosphere and felt easy to visit casually. It wasn't stiff like an upscale yakiniku restaurant, but it didn't feel cheap either—just comfortably casual. It seemed suitable for lots of occasions, such as going with friends, after work, or enjoying yakiniku over a few drinks. It was busy and lively while still being comfortable. As for the all-important meat, it was delicious overall. The quality was good and it was genuinely satisfying. The lean cuts and standard meats were especially delicious, with seasoning that kept the rice and drinks going. Ultimately, I think the most important thing about yakiniku is how good the meat tastes, and on that point I was thoroughly satisfied. Each dish was properly done, giving you that feeling of “I'm eating delicious yakiniku.” The standard meat options in particular were reliably good, with a nice balance of tenderness and fat. They also had a lovely aroma when grilled, and I found myself eating faster and faster without meaning to (lol). They paired well with rice too, and before I knew it, I'd eaten quite a lot. However, to be honest, the offal might divide opinions a little. Personally, I noticed a bit of an unpleasant smell that made it somewhat harder to eat. Offal lovers might not mind, but people who are sensitive to smells or new to offal may find it a little strong. I like offal myself, but this time the distinctive flavor bothered me a little, so that was the one slightly disappointing point. Still, the other meats were delicious overall, so I think you could be fully satisfied by focusing on “enjoying things other than offal.” In fact, the regular meats were very satisfying, so next time I'd like to order mainly different cuts. As for the prices, my impression was that they were a little high. But considering the good location in Shinjuku, late opening hours, and quality of the meat, they felt reasonable. Rather than super-cheap yakiniku, it seems suited to days when you think, “I'd like some slightly better yakiniku today.” People prioritizing low prices might find it a little expensive, but the taste does deliver, so personally it was within an acceptable range. In fact, taking into account “the reassurance of being able to get proper yakiniku even late at night,” I think it's very convenient. Options in Shinjuku become quite limited after midnight, so in that sense too, I felt it was a useful place to remember. The service was fairly good too, and they looked after us properly even while busy. The food didn't take too long to arrive, and I felt I could enjoy the meal without stress. It was comfortable enough, with an atmosphere that made it easy to linger. Overall, the restaurant's appealing points are “close to the station,” “open late,” and “genuinely delicious yakiniku.” Although the prices are somewhat high, being able to enjoy a proper yakiniku meal even after midnight is a major strength. The smell of the offal bothered me a little, but the other meats were very satisfying, and overall it was a place I'd like to visit again. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for yakiniku late at night in Shinjuku or wanting delicious meat after work. Next time I'd like to try a variety of things, mainly other than offal.
View on GoogleThe meat is delicious. I forgot to take a photo, but the bean sprout namul served as otoshi was amazing! I could eat a whole bowl!
