Local vibe. Cashless payment is available. If you only know that Japanese people are quiet, this place is good to break your stereotype.

This is the quintessential “Japanese lunch break” experience. A convenience store merged with a standing soba/udon restaurant. Lots of drinks (+ coffee), tempura and snacks included. They get super crowded at 12pm because of all the salarymen coming here for their lunch but the queue moves fast and everyone finishes their food super fast too, so you usually never have to wait. Service is super quick too, I think my udon was ready in about a minute total. It’s your usual ordering process for that - order at the back by grabbing a tablet, go up to the lady in the kitchen, state your order and then you can choose from the selection of tempura. And also you can put any item on your tablet from the konbini-like drinks and snack section. I only paid 760 Yen for my udon, tempura and tea! So worth it and the food was great and filling too. This is overall a super unique shop that you can probably only really find like that in Japan!

In Shinsen, pick sake from a convenience store shelf, and finish with soba. Soba Udon Tachinomi-dokoro Misawa. Rooted in a liquor store that has existed since the end of the Taisho era, it seems that after being a convenience store, it changed around 2017 to a form that combines soba and kakuuchi (drinking at a liquor store). When you walk in from Shibuya, the store is lined with canned beer, canned food, and small bowls. You can take what you like from the shelves and drink while standing. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ▶ Kirin Classic Lager 350ml can ? yen ▶ Kinpira ? yen ▶ Hotei Yakitori Iwashita no Shinshoga 220 yen ▶ Orion The Dark 350ml can 270 yen ▶ Hoppy Black 250 yen ▶ Takara Shochu 150 yen ▶ Cold Soba 500 yen ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ First, with a Classic Lager and kinpira from next to the register. While overwhelmed by the novelty, I wandered around suspiciously trying to learn the atmosphere and rules (laughs). After that, while snacking on Hotei Yakitori Iwashita no Shinshoga, I moved on to Orion The Dark. It's nice that they can heat up canned food. At a normal convenience store, sake and snacks are just for buying and taking home. Here, it's interesting that you can drink while standing. With Hoppy Black, I mixed it with Takara Shochu for another glass. Finally, cold soba. Choose products from the shelf to drink, and finish with soba. Being able to go from kakuuchi to a soba finish in one place was the interesting part of this shop. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 【Good to know】 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ It's a cash-on system where you pay each time for products taken from the shelf or soba and shochu ordered at the register. Open from 8 am on weekdays. You can stop by for breakfast soba or a drink after work. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 【Shop Atmosphere】 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Convenience store shelves, a standing drinking space, and a soba ordering counter are all in the same store. A space rarely seen elsewhere, as if using the remnants of a liquor store, yet also having a convenience store atmosphere. A shop that is fun even just for the time spent hesitating in front of the shelves about what to drink. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 【Shop Information】 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Misawa 9-7 Shinsen-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Fine Crest Shibuya Shinsen Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00-22:00 Closed: Saturday, Sunday 📌 Save for when you want to go from kakuuchi to soba in Shinsen.

Stopped by for a casual drink & soba at [Soba Udon Tachinomi-dokoro Misawa]. It's a very rare type of business that fuses a liquor store, convenience store, standing soba, and standing bar. When you enter the store, you'll be a little surprised by the unique atmosphere. The style where you can choose your favorite drinks or snacks from the refrigerator and drink while standing is interesting. The soba is simple but the dashi broth is effective, and it's light, just right for a finish. You can also freely choose snacks like canned food or fried items, and the appeal is that you can combine them to your liking. The store is standing-style with a fast turnover, suitable for quick drinks and meals before heading home. There are many regulars, and I was impressed by the comfort that somehow feels local. It's a unique shop that's perfect for stopping by when you want a casual drink in the Shibuya/Shinsen area or as a finish after drinking.

An interesting form that's like a compact service area where standing soba is added to the look of a convenience store? liquor store? is already 5 stars. I've been curious for a long time, but finally got the chance to go. And what I ordered was 'Katsu Soba' 650 yen. I thought, Tonkatsu on top of soba!? but since it's rare, I ordered it. I also added kakiage. The result is that it turns out Tonkatsu goes well with anything.
