It's okay. A little expensive for the amount of food you get and the food is nothing extraordinary.
View on GoogleIt seems to be a long-established Chinese restaurant beside the entrance to an apartment building. The Showa-era atmosphere is very strong, and when you enter, there is a powerful lavender scent, perhaps from a toilet deodorizer? Personally, it was just barely tolerable. As you might expect from a Showa-era restaurant, several customers start smoking cigarettes or e-cigarettes during or after their meals. Please visit knowing that this is one of the few restaurants in Japan where you can smoke🚬. As a Chinese restaurant, it is a rare place these days where you can eat for under 1000円. This time I had the hoikoro set for 880円. They use miso instead of oyster sauce, so you may find the seasoning sweet. The accompanying egg soup has no detectable saltiness, like plain hot water. Even with thin strips of the side dish zha cai added, without adding them I would probably have left it. The hoikoro is sweet, and together with the fat from the pork loin trimmings, it is sweet and delicious. They seem to use very little salt, so it might be good as a reduced-salt meal. There was a bite-sized annin dessert on the side. Recommended for experiencing the atmosphere of the middle to late Showa era and Taiwanese Chinese cuisine. Personally, I would rather avoid the lavender air freshener and cigarette smells, so I will not visit again. But for experiencing the Chinese food Japanese people flocked to for everyday lunches in the Showa era, along with the smoking environment that was common then, this is the last restaurant to visit. The customers do not disappoint either; you can experience the cigarette ambience too. Incidentally, I do not think the lavender air freshener here is intended to disguise a sewage smell, as was common in Showa-era establishments. The reason is that when I was young, I could not stand that smell and would pay midway through and flee. Yet even I could tolerate it here and finish my meal.
View on GoogleA Chinese restaurant run by Chinese people, partway up the hill from Yoyogi Station's west exit toward Sangubashi Station. It is a fairly common type of place, with all-you-can-eat-and-drink courses too. There are not that many seats, but the tables are spaced widely apart, so it is nice to be able to relax. My recommendation is the value set. Just 1,280円. With draft beer, an appetizer, a main dish, and gyoza, it is quite substantial. I often go with my family, and we each choose different dishes to share. Honestly, it is not exceptionally, amazingly delicious! But it is definitely tasty, and the balance of price, quantity, and flavor is very good, so I recommend it when you feel like having a quick drink before heading home.
View on GoogleA well-regarded Chinese restaurant in the Yoyogi area. Particularly recommended is the ebi chili, with its pleasantly springy shrimp. The rich sauce brings out the shrimp's umami and makes you want more rice. The generously portioned gyoza are also popular, crispy outside and juicy inside. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere, and the staff are kind. There are good-value set meals at lunchtime too, offering excellent value for money. A restaurant we highly recommend visiting if you want to enjoy authentic Chinese food in Yoyogi.
View on Google【スポログreview#1843】 The gomoku fried rice listed on the menu as 650円 including tax became 750円 including tax for takeout. Is that stated somewhere? I cannot find it.
