Lion Share
Understated, homey kitchen serving specialty curries & small plates, plus beer & cocktails.
Founded in 2004, ライオンシェア is a restaurant serving 100% handmade original curries, about a 7-minute walk from Yoyogi Station and 4 minutes from Minami-Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line. Its signature 特製ドライキーマ is a curious curry whose umami keeps unfolding the more you chew. Combined with firm-cooked, 30%-polished brown rice, keema stir-fried into loose grains, and finely chopped fresh vegetables and aromatic garnishes, it offers a texture unlike curry and the pleasure of one flavor after another, keeping you interested to the last bite. It is also a body-friendly curry with salt and oil kept to a minimum and no wheat flour, dairy products, eggs, or chemical seasonings. Even if you eat your fill, your stomach never feels hea…

Awesome restaurant run by friendly hosts. Everything we ordered was delicious. The curries here are very different from the others we have had in Japan. The chicken and vegetables were all cooked exceptionally. Good portions along with good prices. Visit Lion Share for a unique and rewarding curry experience!
View on GoogleSmall Curry restaurant, not far from Shinjuku station. They have some nice curry options, I tried one of the two vegan curry they offered, it was nice, missing some salt, but it can be because I asked no spicy at all. A bit pricey for a curry, but apparently is all organic, and also vegan, so, it’s kinda normal here in Japan. Worths a visit.
View on GooglePhenomenal curry rice. Hearty flavors and portions, where you can customize portions and spice levels. The tomato spinach curry was absolutely amazing, somehow the combo of tomato and curry is simply delicious. This place also uses some interesting rice almost resembling grain vs. normal white sticky rice and seasonal vegetables in their chicken vedge curry. Also the chunky home made pickles are yum.. Really good homely atmosphere and very friendly service.
View on GoogleDelicate “curry rice” dishes, particularly various dry-curry choices. I enjoyed “Dry-curry with Aubergine Lunch” very much... the ranges are from around Y1k+. Will come back to taste other/new curry sometime!
View on GoogleA nice quiet restaurant with relaxing music in the background. This is what I needed in always noisy Tokyo. The Curry was good and we also got choices for my veggie daughter’s.
