Intimate, unassuming restaurant offering rice-based food & traditional small plates, plus sakes.

A 3-minute walk from the west exit of JR恵比寿 Station. Tucked away in the basement, 「米福」 is a Japanese restaurant where rice takes center stage, just as its name suggests. Its calm, mature atmosphere makes it a recommended spot for a date with someone special or whenever you want to take your time enjoying delicious food. Our commitment is to source brown rice from across Japan, mill it ourselves every morning, and cook it in 萬古焼き clay pots. Our signature 「土鍋ご飯」 is an exceptional dish that brings out the rice's natural sweetness and aroma to the fullest. You can choose your favorite from 5〜6 carefully selected branded rice varieties from across the country, and we also offer seasoned clay pot rice generously prepared with seasonal ingredients. Our dishes make the most of seasonal ingredients in Japanese…

The clay pot rice is the highlight, and it pairs perfectly with their seasonal side dishes. A great place to enjoy high-quality Japanese rice in a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are in Ebisu!

Very nice omakase, with a variety of grilled fish and sashimi, as well as the famous rice bowl. The staff were all friendly and offered translation without hesitation. Definitely recommended.

A local friend recommended this spot, and it was an excellent choice! We each went with the omakase and complemented the meal with a variety of cocktails and sakes. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. One of the highlights was the unique rice pairing experience—where you can choose two different bowls, each cooked to a specific texture and moisture level. It was a fun and flavorful twist! We had a fantastic time and would absolutely return.

One of our favorite meals in Tokyo. The chef is passionate and a master at work. They ambiance is dynamic—the chef is a conductor at work, the rice the star of the show. The small dishes of the omakase were also delicious—among them the sashimi, fried blowfish, shabu shabu, and wagyu sukiyaki were all memorable. Go here!

We were welcomed even as a random walk-in customers at around 6 PM, which was pleasant! We had the recommended set menu (6200 JPY in June 2025) with a choice of two specialty rice cultivars (and indeed, we could taste the difference, and we could get the rest of the rice as takeaway per default!). Along with the rice, sashimi in particular was pretty great.
