Such a strong Showa-era vibe! I had katsu curry. They fry the cutlet after you order, so it takes a little time. The lunch menu is extensive, and everything looks delicious. It comes with a drink, and I also got candy on my way out. Smoking is allowed throughout. Electronic money isn't accepted.
View on GoogleGreat atmosphere! You can smoke. The owner is kind. You can use it like a café or an izakaya. The curry was much spicier than I expected lol. There's a sign saying laptop work is prohibited, though.
View on GoogleIt might look a little intimidating to enter from outside, but once inside, an elderly couple welcomes you to this homey place. No lingering before 16:00! Share tables when it's crowded! I visited for lunch, and everything except curry rice was ¥1,000! ¥1,000 with a drink! Cheap! I had the pork katsu, and its ketchup seasoning seems like something everyone would enjoy! It feels like coming home to your parents' place. The portion is just right, too. Smoking is allowed at all seats, so it's a fantastic place for smokers! If you're visiting it as a café for something other than drinks, be aware that they don't serve sweets! Cash only! They gave me chocolate on my way out, and I happily went back to work ♪ Update 2025.05 It had closed. Thank you for all these years.
View on Google【Points】 ・A friendly mama ・A small, cute interior ・Operates as a snack bar at night? ・Smoking allowed 【Impressions】 It seems to be one of the few independently owned coffee shops in Yoyogi. Yet there are lots of customers' reserved bottles in the small space. Looking at the menu, I saw “スナックかんな”. So it transforms into a snack bar at night. That explains mama's manner, too. I thought it felt somewhat like a mountain lodge, then noticed lots of mountain paintings. I had iced milk coffee, which had a strong coffee flavor and was delicious. The lunch menu looks tasty, so I'd like to visit again.
View on GoogleI went in for a meal in the evening. The old-fashioned exterior had a lovely character, and inside, the lady was running the place alone. From the few menu options, I ordered the hamburg steak plate. It was presented in a nostalgic, old-style Western-food fashion and looked delicious. The hamburg steak was simmered-style, warm and tender, and delicious with the tomato sauce.
