八十八渋谷Hatoya Shibuya
'Hachijuhachi Shibuya' is the 2nd store in Tokyo of 'Hachijuhachi Ryoyosha' originating from Arashiyama, Kyoto. It is a Japanese tea specialty store that provides drinks and sweets using Uji tea. We only handle high-quality tea leaves from Kyoto Prefecture that have been carefully selected, and every year when the harvest season arrives, we perform tea harvesting work together with the producers. By visiting each producer and the author of each tool, we convey the live voice while brewing matcha in front of the customer. At 'Hachijuhachi Shibuya', in addition to the takeout use provided in the conventional stand style, we have equipped seats in the store that were requested by many customers, and enjoy authentic Japanese tea in a more comfortable and calm environment...

A small, simple shop creating aesthetic and tasty matcha drinks. We arrived at opening to a small crowd lined up outside but the workers had a quick process and we spent about 20 minutes from arrival to ordering. Ordering is seamless, the staff speak English and the menu is very straightforward. Each order is carefully crafted right in front of you and they encourage recording as they craft it. We ordered the number one roasted matcha iced with brown sugar and matcha whipped cream. We took our drink outside where there was more space, although there were seats inside. The drink had a soft earthiness to it mixed with a nice sweetness from the brown sugar. The presentation is great so if you’re looking for a snapshot you’ll be sure to get one. This is definitely a tourist spot so it may get busy at times, but we think it’s well worth stopping by.
View on GoogleWoooow. Amazing matcha! I got the Tezumi one (most expensive) and it was incredible. It was so round and soft and creamy and naturally“sweet”. That is a high quality matcha. I had it with soy, but they have oat as well. Highly recommend this place for any matcha fan! You can go without added sugar really, it’s just too good and qualitative to sweeten and spoil the drink! I also love they call your number so you can see where they do your matcha by hand. Luxurious experience.
View on GoogleI bought this for 1450円. It has a rich matcha taste and strong aroma. The scoop of ice cream on top is deeply flavorful with almost no sweetness, giving pure matcha flavor that enhances the drink even more as it melts. The drink service was fast, the staff spoke English well. In addition, the area around the shop has plenty of other interesting places to explore.
View on Googlewas it worth the hype?? absolutely!! i had discovered this cafe through TikTok, and everything met to my expectations. me personally, there was no wait for line, and all the staff were soo nice!! i would recommend the matcha latte + oat milk + matcha icecream it was so yummyy
View on GoogleJAN 2026 Came here early in the morning for matcha and it was already quite busy but I didn't have to wait long to order. I had the handpicked Tezumi iced matcha latte which is the most premium matcha option on the menu and indeed it was high quality with a smooth and rich earthy umami taste. The ratio of matcha to milk was great, not milky at all. If you want a dessert like drink, highly recommend having the matcha latte with no sugar and top it with matcha whipped cream; it adds a bit of sweetness and a rich creaminess which complements the latte. Also had the Hatoya parfait which can only be ordered for dine-in. The parfait consist of a matcha lava cake surrounded with matcha whipped cream, shiratama, and a scoop of matcha ice cream topped with matcha sauce and powder. It was quite sweet and very rich in matcha flavor which was tasty. Overall enjoyed both the matcha latte and parfait and the staffs were friendly. Note that the matcha drinks takes quite a bit of time as each drink is measured and whisked to order and having the parfait during busy hours can be difficult due to limited dining space.
