Unexpected perfect sushi experience in Ebisu area. I finally found it on Google maps. I highly recommended this cozy local corner near Ebisu station, not hidden, but if you see the sign ‘八兵衛’, you found it. There was a professional and very kind sushi chef who made me so happy with Sushi & Sashimi with another level! My mum wanted to say Thank you for the great dinner. Thank you very much.

I am a big fan of this place and I come here whenever I am in the mood for midnight sushi but had a pretty mid experience om the other night: the chef was not here and his younger apprentice ( I think? ) was serving… and the whole sushi vibe was less exciting. I asked for omakase and received a platter ( I thought you should serve one at a time and that is how It was there whenever I went ) and omakase with salmon? Kind of weird imho… all in all I paid the same amount ( about 7000 yen so not cheap at all ) for sushi that wasn’t very good but the whole fun and quirky mood that the older chef sets is to me why you pay the premium and definitely wasn’t there. I will come again and hope the older chef is around because he is magic and always funny!

Incredibly good, fresh sushi. Seasonal options. Good selection of sake. Very reasonable price for what you get. Recommend going with the Omakase IE: chef makes his recommended dishes. This is a small, counter style sushi restaurant. Occasionally full, very convenient for the station and the Yokacho. Even when it's busy you'll get the sushi fairly quickly but be prepared to be patient and take your time.

It’s nice fusion of Japanese sushi with Italian wine restaurant. Counter seats are recommended as you will directly request chef & have your order. Ambiance is nice 🙂 Although it has variety of wines but Japan sake with sushi is good. English menu & staff is available.
