ごちとん 渋谷新南口店Gochiton Shibuya New South Exit Branch
"Gochiton" is a tonjiru set meal specialty restaurant where the star is "tonjiru that works as a main dish." The tonjiru at the heart of the set meal uses "Kyushu barley miso," a traditional country-style miso rich in the gentle sweetness of barley koji, a mellow aroma, and umami. Our signature homemade kumi-dofu uses 100% domestic "Toyomasari" soybeans so you can enjoy its smooth texture and the sweetness of soybeans, and is handmade in-store every day. Please enjoy tonjiru that's simple yet unavailable anywhere else, such as white miso soy milk, spicy miso chige, and spare ribs. Among the "side dishes" you can add to a tonjiru set meal, aji fry (fried horse mackerel) is the most popular. With combinations you won't tire of even if you eat them every day, like the "tamago kake gohan" topping,…

It was raining outside, so we decided to stop by for something warm, and this restaurant really hit the spot. Their tonjiru (pork miso soup) was incredibly comforting and perfect for a rainy day. There were two miso broth options available. I chose the darker red-brown broth, but it was a bit too salty for my personal taste since I generally prefer lighter flavors. After trying my boyfriend's white miso version, I found it much more balanced and enjoyable. That said, my boyfriend liked both and felt the darker broth was flavorful, though perhaps a little intense for eating spoonful after spoonful. Overall, the soup was delicious, hearty, and incredibly satisfying on a cold, rainy day. It instantly lifted our mood, and the prices were very reasonable as well. A great place for a comforting meal near Shibuya.
View on GoogleThis is a restaurant specializing in tonjiru, a popular home-style dish in Japan. It serves Japanese set meals centered around tonjiru. In the manga and TV drama series "「深夜食堂」Midnight Diner," tonjiru is the only item on the menu, but in reality, it’s rare to find a restaurant where tonjiru—which is typically seen as a home-style dish or side dish—serves as the main course. The tonjiru here is packed with ingredients and is truly a feast. There’s also a wide variety of tonjiru variations, so it’s surprising how hard it is to choose just one. It’s also interesting that the fluffy, crispy fried horse mackerel—which would normally be the main dish—is served as a smaller side dish here.
View on GoogleWell balanced nutritious menu, staff is friendly. Miso soup with meat and vegetables, were a lighter taste compared to ramen but delicious. Not too salty or greasy. I really liked that they offer various sizes of rice to go with. They also serve tea for the basic drink, and refilled before asking. Great service and would like to visit again if in the area
View on GoogleHad the kimchi pork meal set—really tasty and satisfying. The restaurant offers an English menu, which makes ordering easy for non-Japanese speakers. Staff were friendly and took my order at the table. Last order was at 10 PM when I visited. Convenient location near the station and a solid spot for a casual meal especially if you just finished doing the go kart on the same block.
View on GoogleWonderful food and very clean restaurant, friendly personnel. I had the kimchi pork meal and rice triangles with a super delicious something on it. Menu is easy to understand for non-japanese speakers (has photos). Free ice tea with the meal is a lovely bonus. Loved it! 🇱🇻❤️🇯🇵
