"Come to think of it, I stopped going to libraries once I became an adult…" Public libraries close early, and they're far from the station so it's hard to get there. Couldn't we create a library that even working adults could use casually? That's the idea behind this forest library, a 1-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Novels, picture books, and manga. Feel free to pick up any book on the shelves. Reading quietly alone, chatting with companions, for work or study, having a drink at nig…

A quiet place to slow down in the middle of Shibuya. Tucked away from the busy streets, this spot feels calm and welcoming. Surrounded by books and warm lighting, it’s a nice place to sit, read, and enjoy a drink at your own pace. It’s perfect when you just want a break from the noise and crowds, even if only for a short while. A small, peaceful escape in the city.
View on GoogleA very special cafe away from the hustle and bustle outside. Pay per hour with unlimited soft drinks and you can add dessert as well. The chocolate cake was delicious. We spent an hour just enjoying the soft music and some of the English books. The waitress was very nice and welcoming, and spoke English well.
View on GoogleDon’t trust my rating on the food as I only had soft drinks, other than that this hidden gem is wonderful. Absolutely different world from the crazy scramble right outside! If you’re looking for a cozy lounge to have a couple of drinks, study during lunch, are just craving an adventure please pay this place a visit! The staff are friendly and speak both English and Japanese which was very helpful as my Japanese is still very little. The best part is they offer a wide variety of books to read as well! The pay is rather budget friendly and charge for time rather than menu selection. The absolute best thing I have ever found in Shibuya is this small cozy and magical cafe. Thank you for hosting me!
View on GoogleA super cool place to go have some coffee or tea. It’s on the 8th floor and is kinda like a speakeasy, with a kinda discrete entrance (but you can’t miss it). The place is dark and lined with books, and has a very laidback vibe. It feels as though you can stay forever, but there is a time limit. I got a coffee which was good, but the earl grey chiffon cake was excellent. Chiffon cake is not normally the first thing I get, but this one is worth trying. The staff and service were friendly and fast. Stop by if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya.
View on GoogleAn absolute hidden gem away from the chaos of central Tokyo - would recommend to e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e (ps. Waitress has GREAT taste in music)
