The choices at the mall were not super amazing and we decided to go here. We only spoke English so we used the international method of communication by pointing to the menu. I had chicken katsu curry. The sauce was a little strong for me compared to what I make but it was good. They provided cabbage and salad as a starter. Guy across from me must have eaten three cabbages. He would have been full that night until all the gas came out. Pity his wife. Food was excellent but the diet options and drink were not as expected ie there was none - only full fat coke if I recall correctly.
View on GoogleKatsu is perfectly crunchy and tasty, rice was nicely cooked and the salad with sesame dressing was the perfect appetizer. Really like the fried shrimp. The curry is extremely rich, borderline too much. Sauce that comes with shrimp tempura was bright and zingy, really enjoyed. Free refills on salad, miso soup and rice, didn’t need it as the portion is quite hearty. Service was good and atmosphere is nice. Wouldn’t go out of my way to try this though, only if in the area
View on GoogleIt was a Saturday when my husband and I went to Ebisu to walk around and explore. As lunchtime approached, we both started craving カツカレー (pork cutlet curry), so we searched on our phones and found this restaurant that looked perfect for what we wanted. When we arrived, it was around 1:45pm. There were already a few people waiting, about five tables ahead of us, so we joined the line. We waited around 15 minutes before a friendly waitress led us to our table. My husband ordered an エビスビール(中瓶)(Yebisu beer – medium bottle), and for his main dish, he chose the 熟成 三元麦豚のロースかつ丼 (aged Sangenton pork loin cutlet rice bowl). I ordered the 熟成 三元麦豚のロースかつカレー (aged Sangenton pork loin cutlet curry). All the meals here are set meals, which come with a cabbage salad and miso soup, and the best part, both are unlimited refills! Our cabbage salad came first, with a cute little piece of tofu on the side. There were ポン酢 (ponzu) and ごまソース (sesame sauce) on the table, so you can choose whichever you prefer. We both liked our cabbage salad with ponzu, it was refreshing and light, perfect as a starter. The waiter even came over to ask if we wanted a refill! The tofu, topped with just a bit of wasabi, was simple yet elegant, smooth, fresh, and high-quality. We both really enjoyed it. Then my ロースかつカレー (pork cutlet curry) arrived, together with a bowl of miso soup. The miso soup was rich and flavorful but not too salty, it warmed my heart instantly. And the ロースかつ (pork cutlet), oh my goodness, it was incredibly サクサク (crispy) on the outside, yet not oily at all, and so tender and juicy inside! The curry had that comforting Japanese-style flavor I love, a little strong for me on its own, but when paired with the cutlet, it was just perfect. And the rice was cooked exactly how I like it, slightly firm and each grain separate. Together with the curry, it was unstoppable. The combination of the cutlet, rice, and curry, it felt like a little festival in my mouth! My husband ordered the ロースかつ丼 (pork cutlet rice bowl), and since he loves the cozy taste of 親子丼 (oyakodon), this dish was right up his alley, the flavorful pork cutlet with sauce over rice and egg was rich and satisfying. The pork texture was slightly different from mine, a bit firmer in the center, but overall, with the sauce, eggs, and rice, it was still delicious. We both left feeling very happy and satisfied after this wonderful meal. It was comforting, fulfilling, and full of flavour, the kind of lunch that brightens your day. We’ll definitely come back again, and I highly recommend this place if you love カツカレー (pork cutlet curry)!
View on GoogleThis is not only my favorite tonkatsu restaurant in Tokyo, this is my favorite restaurant in all of Japan. The sauce is unmatched by any other tonkatsu I have been to. The quality of the pork and all ingredients is sublime. This review will sound fake with how perfect this place is, but I promise on great Odin’s beard that this place truly lives up to whatever hype I can give to it. Amazing place.
View on GoogleStopped in for a quick, convenient lunch before my friend's train. It would be our last lunch together for a while 😢 Service was very efficient yet staff was polite and smiley. There was a special with pork, oyster and shrimp! Perfect! My favorites 😋 I was surprised by the olive oil that was brought out with my meal. It was recommended to be drizzled over the pork then sprinkled with salt. I enjoyed it very much as it really was a different flavor experience from my usual karashi/katsu sauce. The staff happily refilled my teacup many times without me having to ask. This meal was a good memory for me.
