Well, most reviews here talking about tired or sick dogs. Our dog wasn’t a golden retriever so maybe that’s why it was different for us. We tried both the cafe and also took for one hour walk. Our super cute dog was Shizuku (the frenchie), because we were so bonded to her in the cafe… we spontaneously decided to go with her for a walk. Wow! Words are not enough to describe the amazing time we had. shizuku was so so so happy and cheerful. Maybe the happiest dog I’ve ever seen. She rolled around on the grass, ran all over the place, politely had snacks and patiently waited in the poop cleaning. Honestly, I feel she took us for a walk and not the other way around. This place deserves 10 stars because it’s doing some really good job with this facility. All dogs looked really happy and vital. Genuinely happy. Everything was clean (no smell, many fans), not million rules everywhere like many Japanese places are, dogs were cuddly and well behaved. PS- it seems like the Golden retrievers are kept in some separate floor due to their fatigue. Makes sense because most people want to walk them. But All other dogs were all together at the cafe floor and we saw many people walk many dogs in the near by park. As an animal lover, I didn’t feel anything fishy about this place. I highly recommend going. The dogs seemed so happy in their walks!!! . I’ll definitely do it again next time I’m in Japan. 10/10! Thank you 🙏

Visited Dog Heart during my trip to Tokyo and honestly had such a good time. The staff were super friendly and patient, and you can tell they really care about the dogs. The place is clean, the dogs are well-behaved and clearly used to people, and the whole vibe is just comforting and fun. I booked a short session but ended up staying longer because the dogs were so sweet and relaxing to be around. It’s not a ‘mind-blowing’ attraction or anything, but if you’re an animal lover and want a calm, wholesome break from the busyness of the city, this is a really lovely spot. Would definitely visit again

I had a delightful opportunity to rent Sumire! My boyfriend and I had been planning to come for a long time since he went previously as a kid, but the experience was a bit subpar at most. Sumire was well-behaved— didn’t tug on the leash too much, didn’t stop in the middle of the crosswalk, and wasn’t aggressive. The price was 5000¥ an hour, and an additional 200¥ if you want to buy snacks. When first walking into the store, the place smelled really bad and I was worried for the hygiene of the dogs. I just hoped they were properly taken care of as it seemed like Sumire’s teeth did not seem well maintained. The clerk was nice and spoke some English, but I was able to get through with my broken Japanese. The instructions of walking them and the consent form are available in English. To be fair, the clerk told us ahead of time that Sumire might not walk. I believe it was mostly due to the weather and treats. Thankfully we were able to time our walk well, because we were trying to do only an hour. It took us awhile to even get into the park, as Sumire continously stopped. She would not go unless you fed her snacks, so she’s very treat motivated. On the way back, we were also worried that we wouldn’t be able to get back on time because she kept stopping and we were running out of snacks. So make sure to keep this in mind, highly recommend buying the snacks, or she might not walk at all. But thankfully we did make it back on time, and payment is cash-only. They provided us a small baggie with poop bags, water bottle, can to put the poop bags in, and treats. I think it would be better if at least snacks were included. I would recommend the experience to others if they know what they’re getting into beforehand, but I personally would not want to go again, out of concern for the maintenance of the dogs.

I went here as a birthday present for my mum, and we had so much fun! The dog we chose was a puppy so we were told they might not walk much if at all, and we would probably have to carry them the whole time! This was something I saw on tiktok and thought could be a fun idea, and I do not regret it at all! We even managed to get our dog to walk, and have a little run with us near the end of our time! Definitely helped with us missing my little boy at home!

I was disappointed in the health and behaviour of the dogs. We walked two golden retrievers Nikko and Sumrie. One clearly had signs of dysplasia and a lump on her back. The other was reactive towards dogs (thank god we are dog trainers with large dogs at home so stopped the dog from eating a passing dog). We where warned not to walk them too far as they would ‘stop’, we found out on the walk they would stop and refuse to move unless lured by a treat (something I assume has been taught by the many randoms who have walked them). The place also smelt of yeast infections, neither of the dogs we had seemed to have ear infections but the place smelt bad. It was clear the female dogs had also been bred which was upsetting given neither where in a condition to be bred. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. It was a bit depressing coming from a country that valued animal welfare. If you are not experienced with dogs I think the behaviour these dogs displayed could cause issues. I was a bit upset I had to pay for such a depressing experience. Giving two stars instead of one as the dogs were very cute.
