I don’t know what happened to the people who rated it so low, but it just got everything I expected, Hogwarts-liked atmosphere with classical music, nice tea and sandwich, the owner served well and clean toilet. The only problem would be the smoke, there’s no block between smoking and nonsmoking seats.
View on GoogleThe mild brewed coffee really goes well with the cheesecake that I got. It’s the perfect dessert and definitely must-try! The owner is a really nice man. He’s pretty hands on.
View on GoogleA 3-minute walk from 初台駅. With slightly dim lighting and a space that feels warm thanks to the wood, this is an old-fashioned coffee shop where time passes leisurely. This time I ordered ドゥブレンド. A dark-roast flavor with pronounced richness and bitterness. A subtle sweetness and depth within the bitterness, with no off flavors and a clean taste. Recommended when you want to take your time enjoying coffee.
View on GoogleThe other day, when I went to see a theater performance, I stopped by because I felt like having something light before the show. There wasn't any particular greeting when I entered, so I went toward the back, where I was told that nonsmoking seating was near the entrance, and I sat there. The smoking and nonsmoking areas are technically separate, but there isn't a proper wall or partition between them. I had Earl Grey and a toasted loin ham sandwich. The tea arrived with the French press, so I was happy to have plenty to drink! The bread in the toasted sandwich was delicious and the portion was fairly substantial, so that suited my taste too. My companion ordered cocoa and pizza toast, and was pleased that the cocoa had nicely whipped cream and tasted good. The service did feel rather curt, as the reviews said, but it wasn't unpleasant, so perhaps it also depended on the timing? As we were leaving, I said the food was delicious, and the owner smiled and thanked me. When I asked where the toilet was, he also told me with a smile. They don't accept credit cards or electronic payments, only cash, so it struck me as an old-fashioned shop for this day and age. The cakes looked delicious, so next time I'm nearby I'd like to have cake and coffee! Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleAt lunchtime on a day off, I went in to have the sandwich pictured near the entrance. There were no other customers. I was asked whether I wanted smoking or nonsmoking seating. Apparently the sandwiches were already finished (even though it was only 12時半). I ordered pizza instead. The menu said sandwiches and cakes couldn't be ordered on their own, so I ordered coffee, but the cheapest coffee was 600円. The pizza had plenty of cheese and was quite delicious. The coffee was also really good. The background music was カーペンターズ, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Being near a theater, they have lots of plates displaying famous actors' autographs. There was even an イチロー ball. The owner does seem rather unsociable, but he was kind when he brought the food.
