I had high anticipation when visiting this shop because it is the kind that is filled with locals and for me it was a sign of authenticity. I arrived 7:25pm, 5 minutes before my reservation to pay respect to the restaurant. Process to order at 7:30, with appetizers, sashimi, yakitori, claypot rice, etc, but, by 9:30pm, many items are not served, already had 1 draft and 4 carafes of sake by that time and at 9:30, two hours after my initial order, my sashimi had not fully been served, my nabe forgotten and yakitori missing, I told them, in my country Malaysia, my former prime minister Tun Mahathir Mohammad use to quote if a minister is not performing, he would say in Japan, the person would have already committed harakiri. I use to belief, but today with my own eyes, the owner offered me 5% discount, I declined, I told them, don't embarass yourself and more importantly do not humiliate me with the discount, I will pay full price. I told them I will complete my dinner in family mart and they send me the bill which I paid in full.

Very fun and vibrant atmosphere. There’s an English menu. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A must is the grilled chicken liver super tender. Very good plum wine

I I wish I had read the reviews before visiting this place. Unfortunately, this was my very first negative experience in Japan. I was asked to leave by the chef, seemingly because I couldn’t speak Japanese. There was no English menu available, and the staff didn’t make any effort to assist, even though I tried my best to communicate politely and respectfully. It felt as though foreign guests were simply not welcome. If that’s the case, it would have been more courteous to inform me at the entrance rather than allowing me to sit in confusion for 10 minutes, only to be asked to leave when I tried to order. The experience was genuinely hurtful and left me feeling embarrassed and rejected. It’s made me hesitant to enter other local restaurants out of fear of a similar response. For fellow travelers, especially those who don’t speak Japanese, please be aware before visiting. This was a truly shocking and disappointing moment.

I think they over charge foreign customers... 3 cover charges (800×3), 1 sime saba (1,200), 1 tamagoyaki (1,200), and 4 orders of sake (950x4) costed us total of 8,600 yen. Not cool

Ordered grilled fish, pork, rice balls, steamed vegetables. They were all excellent, so was the beer and service. A bit on the pricey side but well worth a visit if in the Shibuya area.
