In front is the Ahoaho Curry. Fluffy omelet with spinach, a gentle flavor. Tasty, but not surprising enough to be moving. I should have gone with level 2 or 3 instead of regular spiciness. In the back is the Third Curry (pork belly). It's spicy, and since I chose level 1, the heat was just right. I think I prefer this one.
View on GoogleAt lunchtime they serve curry, with a lineup of many different kinds. The basic Plain Curry is 550 yen, a reasonable price. This day I ordered the Third Curry (850 yen), which comes with chunks of pork belly. It seems you can change the spice level for free, so I asked for level 2. Because of its distinctive name and exterior, I'd been curious about this shop for a long time, and visited for the first time at lunchtime. The counter in front has a bar-like atmosphere, so it's easy to come even on your own. About 7 or 8 minutes after ordering, the Third Curry arrived. It's loaded with big chunks of pork belly, and looks quite hearty. The meat is stewed until meltingly tender, with savoriness like kakuni (braised pork belly), and goes really well with rice. The curry has the sweetness of vegetables, but the aftertaste brings a solid heat. In recent years prices have been climbing, especially for spice curry, but a shop where you can enjoy this much quality and volume for under 1,000 yen is precious. I'd like to come again. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleAhoaho Curry, regular spiciness, 850 yen. On the first bite it tasted bland — or rather, I couldn't taste any richness or flavor at all. Ugh, I felt let down thinking I had to eat all of this. I managed to finish it, but it wasn't tasty at all. Weekday lunch at 12:20, the counter seats were already full. I was shown to a table seat.
View on GoogleI went around 12:30 on a weekday. I sat at the counter, but the seats in the back were open too, and there were more seats than I expected. I had the Phantom Spice Curry; maybe the vegetables had been stewed until they melted away, because the only ingredient was pork belly. I could taste the sweetness of the vegetables in the roux. Even though it uses lots of spices, the Japanese-style curry flavor was really delicious. When I asked for a rice refill, they gave me a full plate for free. I chose spice level 3, and it was numbingly spicy! The chorizo topping wasn't spicy at all, but it was juicy and tasty. You could pay with PayPay!
View on GoogleI went in thinking it was a curry shop, not knowing it served garlic dishes. Ordered the Spicy Curry Salad Just like they said, the salad portion is huge lol The curry is in the 800 yen range, so the cost performance is really good. Tasty
