Visited AFURI Harajuku for lunch and tried their Seasonal Cold Yuzu Ramen (around ¥1,500). The chilled ramen was refreshing and perfect for Tokyo’s hot summer weather. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the broth was light and easy to finish. The only thing I personally wished for was a stronger yuzu flavor. The citrus aroma was quite subtle, so if you’re expecting a bold and tangy yuzu taste, it may feel a little mild. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a light summer ramen in Harajuku.
View on GoogleThe flavors were bright and well-balanced; tangy with a kick of spice in the broth. It’s tucked away in a quieter corner of Harajuku, making it a convenient spot to recharge after a long day of shopping. Staff members are friendly, and there’s a kiosk ordering system, which makes it especially accessible for tourists who don’t speak Japanese. While it is a solid, easy option if you’re in the area, anyone looking for a more authentic, local-style ramen spot might want to explore elsewhere.
View on GoogleI love this place. Not too long waiting off peak hours. Easy to order. Very welcoming atmosphere and clean kitchen. Love the yuzu ramen here both the original and the spicy one. Flavor is so overwhelming. This is my second time here. I guess everytime back to Tokyo I will visit this restaurant.
View on GoogleNot many seats however, service was very well organized. Able to seat a party of three together. Ramen was good! Had the meal set of Yuzu Shio with chasu. Chasu wasn’t very oily since it was pork, had a char flavor to it as well. Would love to come back and try out the other dishes!
View on GoogleAFURI Harajuku was hands down one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. I knew I had to try authentic ramen while I was there, and after a long, packed day in Shibuya, this spot was exactly what I was hoping for. When I first arrived, it was surprisingly calm and not crowded at all—which felt like a hidden gem moment. But within about 15 minutes, a wave of people started coming in, and it quickly made sense why this place is so popular. I came prepared and had already looked over the menu beforehand, but the staff were still incredibly helpful in making sure I knew exactly what I was ordering. I also really appreciated that they offered more than just pork options. I went with the Yuzu Shio Ramen and swapped the usual pork belly for chicken—and that was the perfect choice. The ramen was honestly to die for. The broth was light, citrusy, and super flavorful, paired with perfectly cooked noodles (I chose their low-carb option), seaweed, an egg, fresh veggies, and tender chicken. Everything was served hot and prepared right in front of you, which made the whole experience feel even more special. And the price? Just over $10 USD—which is kind of insane for that level of quality. The atmosphere was intimate, cozy, and exactly what you’d want when winding down after a long day. If you’re anywhere near Shibuya/Harajuku and craving incredible ramen, AFURI is a must. Easily one of my favorite meals from the trip.
