It was around 1pm of Sunday, and the place was quite crowded. First impression was that the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We had tempura seiro and we didn’t need to wait too much despite the crowd. The food came out in few minutes, and tempura was really good especially the shrimp! The only minus point is that they accept only cash but not written upfront.

View on Google【After the quiet at the temple gate, a matter-of-fact meal of soba】 After paying our respects at 九品山 唯在念佛院 淨眞寺, we looked for soba nearby, but this seemed to be about the only option within walking distance, so we went in. ◆ 手打ち天せいろ 2,000円 (me) Honestly, my enthusiasm dropped considerably the moment the food arrived and I saw that the soba dipping sauce and tempura sauce were shared. The wide-mouthed bowl also felt awkward for both dipping soba and dipping tempura. The restaurant seems to have been operating for quite some time, but I wish they would pay a little more attention to details like this. The soba was competently made. It felt handmade, but neither its aroma nor its smoothness going down left a strong impression. The tempura was similar, without any particular lightness or distinct expression of its ingredients. ◆ 鴨せいろ 2,000円 (my wife) With duck meatballs. This, too, was reasonable overall, rather than something particularly memorable. Overall, its location makes it useful for stopping by after visiting 浄真寺, but returning specifically for the soba would be a little hard to justify. That was my conclusion.
View on GoogleA popular spot loved by locals. The menu is inventive, and both the portions and seasoning are just right! The katsudon has a juicy cutlet about 2cm thick. The scallop takikomi rice set also comes with tanuki soba. It's the kind of soba shop that makes you think, this is exactly what I was looking for!
View on GoogleA good spot for soba and udon, far removed from the new standards dictated by Instagram. Here, both the decor and the clientele are local, and the aim is to delight your palate at a reasonable price. The menu is fairly varied, and everyone should find something they like. Cash payment only!
