I had the most enjoyable time here. There is no real provision for non-Japanese speaking but the hosts were very gracious and even arranged for an English speaking man to greet me. The museum itself was beautiful and emotional. I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and hospitality as I arrived during torrential rain and they made me feel comfortable. I urge all electronics enthusiasts to go when they are in Tokyo.

I visited the museum after driving far (and coming from the other side of the world but that's not important). There's no parking around there, unless their gate is open, which it wasn't. I thought it was an open miseum, that's kind of how most museums are, but after I rang the bell, a man answered in English (he must have seen me approaching to start off speaking English). Anyway, he tells me I needed to make a reservation. Casio makes cheap watches and charges a lot, just for the name Casio. Do you think the founder of Casio would like the way his memorial museum is being run? Turn people away and tell them they need a reservation. I doubt it. Shame on the people carrying the Casio legacy. Shame on his descendants who sit back and collect checks for a legacy they never earned. Shame on the museum curator who makes the Casio website in Japanese so foreigners waste their time going all the way there to be told they need a reservation. I hope the people who work there read this and feel some sense of shame, but I doubt it. I will reconsider buying another Casio again and I will share my experience with your door intercom with anyone who ever asks me about my trip to Japan. 🙏🥱

I got there and it was closed. Google maps said it was open on Saturday and Sunday but that’s not the case. So you have to book in advance anyway. Its website is just Japanese. I’ll try again next time.

I joined the 10:00 weekday tour. It seems each tour is limited to one group. It was a wonderful tour of about 1:30. They said the reason Casio doesn't start with a K may be because it comes from Cassiopeia (cassiopeia). The Toshio Kashio Memorial Museum of Invention is a facility that conveys the achievements of Toshio Kashio, one of the four Kashio brothers who supported the growth of Casio Computer, and also a rare inventor. Casio's history began in 1957 when the four brothers commercialized the world's first "compact all-electric calculator 14-A." Inside, Casio's innovative inventions that laid the foundation of the electronics industry are displayed in a row, starting with this historic calculator and including the calculators and digital watches that once took the world by storm. The tour is conducted by opening part of his home in Seijo, where he refined many of his ideas, and it's by reservation only (free). During the tour, a dedicated guide shows you around while explaining things carefully, so you can deeply experience the origins of Casio's "creating 1 from 0" approach to making things and its passionate history.
