Located in the basement in a quieter alley in Shimokitazawa. Popular nonetheless with endless stream of customers coming for dinner. Very lively atmosphere. I didn’t have a reservation and was fortunate to get a seat. I’m not sure if the staff speak English (they spoke to me in Japanese) or if they have an English menu but there are pictures in the menu so ordering shouldn’t be a problem even if you do not speak Japanese. It’s my second time here and if you bring your receipt from a previous visit, the cover charge is waived. Smoking is permitted in the restaurant but the ventilation is good and the place doesn’t reek of cigarette smoke.

Fabulous hole in the wall joint. Lively atmosphere. Service was super friendly. Very welcoming. We had almost the whole menu. The cheesy mapo tofu was amazing. Smoking restaurant in the basement (20+ only).

A fantastic spot to soak in authentic Japanese vibes and enjoy traditional cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. I really loved the atmosphere.

Foreigners come here! After living in Japan 20 years ago, I really missed the fun, loud Yaki Tori / Izakaya vibe, where you could have a chat and a cold beer with great food - this is it! You’re welcome!

I was there this night, everything was very delicious and the staff was very nice . I will come back for sure.
