A small little udon/soba restaurant that is family owned. The nicest service and very comfortable. It’s small, but affordable and delicious. Worth a visit if you want something more traditional and take a back seat from all the hustle of the city.
View on GoogleI am looking for mama and papa food store. I found this cute shop.
View on GoogleGreat family atmosphere. Good food for great prices. Service was super friendly especially for marginal Japanese speakers. Small place but was able and willing to service our group of 8. Came twice during our stay nearby.
View on GoogleI was nearby at lunchtime, so I visited for the first time. There really aren't many places to eat around Daitabashi Station…day or night, and not just because of COVID. This place is right in front of that station, in a corner of a small restaurant strip. You look at the menu on the wall, order, pay upfront, then sit and wait. I chose the first recommendation that caught my eye: the mini marinated tuna rice bowl and soba set for 600円…cheap. Looking at the menu again, I noticed a mini tendon set too…I'll choose that next time. The soba is simple, with just green onions and tempura crumbs. The noodles have a decent firmness, and for somewhere with a station-soba feel, they're pretty tasty. The broth looked dark in the photo, but in person it wasn't blackish; it was clear, which I liked. As its appearance suggested, the dashi flavor wasn't very strong, so it felt a little lacking. The rice bowl had 5-6 small slices of marinated tuna with wasabi and nori. It was mini, but it still filled me up. Well, there aren't many choices nearby even at lunchtime, and the value is excellent, so I might return if I get the chance. The elderly lady's service was gentle and nice too. Next time I'd like to try the mini tendon and udon set. Thanks for the mealー.
View on GoogleMini curry set, udon, 800円 It says 「Homemade!」 in red next to the curry, but it's clearly ready-made pouch curry! I was fooled (lol). Add some carrots and it transforms into homemade! So that's what they mean. It starts as 「ready-made pouch curry」. Very runny curry. Don't expect the thick curry you get at a soba shop. Today's udon broth was weak too, a flavor suited to people from Kansai. There was no dashi flavor either. I spotted just one sakura shrimp from the photo; the rest was tempura crumbs. The wife is a nice person, so it's hard to say much, but it wasn't to my taste. Large meat soba It has loads of rafute-like meat and is delicious. There are 5 table seats. Please order at the counter yourself. Payment is upfront, cash only. They call you when it's ready, so you go pick it up. They ask whether you'd like green onions, so I had them added. A homey soba shop with local regulars and a friendly wife and husband. Everyone was ordering sets. The large serving is huge. The noodles themselves taste floury. The broth is on the weak side, so I adjusted it with the soy sauce on the table. It felt like they'd accommodate a request for a stronger flavor. A delicious, generous bowl with a home-style taste!
