Such a weird lunch experience. Seating is cheap, a bit cramped and not at all comfortable. You have to use vending machine/tickets to order food and deinks, much like a ramen or beef bowl eatery. Staff don’t serve the food they call over the PA for you to come pick it up yourself and are so busy that they ended up calling order numbers over the top of each other several times. We didn’t hear one of our orders being called and consequently never collected it, but even then they won’t bring you your food. Presumably the order we missed was returned to the kitchen and thrown away. To their credit though they did refund us for that dish we never got. You are also expected to collect your own utensils and wipe the table yourself. So, the experience is quite a cold one in some ways. However, this is oddly contrasted by the food, which is classic french. Sophisticated, nuanced, thoughtful and delicious. I was very pleased with our order but also it took me a while to decide what to get because there are so many terrific options - things that aren’t easy to find in Tokyo, like duck confit, venison, lamb chops and lobster. I think some people will probably like the contrast between this quite refined menu and more common eating experience. When food of this style and quality is matched by the service and atmosphere, that can be a bit intense for some people, particularly when you just want a quick delicious lunch. It’s not for everyone though, myself included. I don’t need to be pampered but some of the comforts of a traditional french restaurant wouldn’t go a miss. It’s hard to overlook the menu though and I will definitely be back at least a couple more times to try all the dishes that caused me a dilemma when ordering.

This hidden gem offers high‑end French dining in a low‑key, casual atmosphere. The venison from Hokkaido has very good flavor, not gamey, and excellent presentation. The terrace seats are a nice touch, overlooking the river. I wish the service and speed were a bit faster at lunch, though. Overall, it’s still recommended if you’re not in a rush.

If you've ever dreamed of working as your own waiter at a French restaurant, TOKIO French Lunatique is your dream come true! This self-service French restaurant offers a unique dining experience that combines the finesse of French cuisine with the comfort of your favorite fast food joint. The order process is as modern as it gets - you place your order through a ticket machine or their user-friendly app, and then wait for your meal to be prepared. Each dish is assigned a number, and when your number is called, voila! It's time to play 'waiter' and pick up your dish from the open kitchen. Trust me, this little game is less stressful than it sounds and adds a sprinkle of fun to the dining experience. Now, let's talk food. The star of my meal was undoubtedly the 'Beef Stew'. The tender and flavorful meat, bathed in a luxurious demi-glaze sauce, danced the Can-Can on my palate, leaving an unforgettable taste. My wife's heart was stolen by the 'Seafood Gratin'. The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection, and the creamy, cheesy sauce had her humming Mmmmmmm. The 'House White' was an average chap - a dry white wine that did its job without much fanfare. The prices are quite reasonable, though you do have to work a bit for your meal. But hey, who said French dining can't be fun and interactive? Pro tip: Try to snag a seat on the first floor near the open kitchen. It's the best seat in the house for this culinary theater. In conclusion, I'd highly recommend TOKIO French Lunatique to anyone looking for good food, good prices, and a pinch of adventure. Bon appétit!

What a unique concept restaurant!! In Japan (not only in Japan but all over the world..), French restaurant are usually expensive than others. Hence, this restaurant aims cheaper restaurant used below methods. 1. The building is quite old and no maintanance 2. There is no waiters / waitress / Sommelier...etc Once foods are ready, you need to take it from kitchen to your table. Once you finish it, you have to take dishes to the kitchen. 3. Pay ways are ticket machine, or app. you can use only cash for ticket machine. you can use credit card only for app. There is no English explanation. If you can`t use Japanese, it must be tough to visit here. Please visit with your Japanese friends.

Unique style French restaurant with self-service and vending machine for upscale cuisine. The system can a bit confusing at first, the view of the river is amazing once you've settled down. Don't expect a quick in and out lunch.
