A colleague invited me because they wanted to come, so we visited for lunch. You can relax from roughly 12 to 15. There were 3 of us, and another 3 people entered almost at the same time. They were welcomed courteously. In addition to tendon, my colleague added 1 serving of nigiri. He first completed the nigiri orders for 3 people, then moved on to tendon. While frying, the small appetizer was simmered daikon and eggplant. He even poured the beer himself, doing everything alone. Although he seemed to move slowly, his efficiency was truly impressive. The tendon had a wonderfully sweet aroma, but within the sweetness was a distinct, sharp soy sauce flavor that matched the firm rice perfectly. The shrimp tempura was butterflied, with an exquisite texture right between fluffy and springy. The coating was thin; a simple but high-quality tendon❗️ My colleague also added nigiri, which was beautifully prepared Edomae sushi with streamlined rice shapes and careful craftsmanship.

20210509 On the last Sunday of Golden Week, I planned to go to another restaurant, but it was closed on Sundays. As I walked along wondering what to do, this place's standing sign caught my eye. The restaurant is underground and can't be seen from where the sign stands. The dinner menu didn't seem particularly casual, but lunch started at 1,000円. I decided to go in anyway. Going down the stairs and entering, I thought the interior had a somewhat elaborate design. When I left, they told me it had been renovated this February during the COVID pandemic. I instinctively thought, “That explains it!” I sat at the counter, but there was some distance from the person behind it(a restaurant staff member). The vegetables placed there looked delicious, so I ordered 「天丼 かき揚げ」. My wife ordered 「天丼 海老入り」. The vegetable tempura was delicious. The interior atmosphere, including the tableware, was nice, and the timing of tea replacements was good too. I was happy just to be able to enter this restaurant at this price, but even considering the tendon alone(leaving the restaurant itself aside), the price was pleasing. After getting home, I looked online and learned they had Facebook, which again made me feel how earnestly they run the business. I hope places like this continue. This information is only for Setagaya residents, but individual-shop support vouchers were accepted. Fewer shops accept these than other shared Setagaya shopping vouchers, and so far not a single shop accepting them has disappointed me.
