This place is great. Young very friendly staff, English menu on iPad, excellent sushi, yakitori, horse meat sashimi! Warm atmosphere, good sake. Been here 3x already, will be back
View on GoogleComing here as a foreigner who can not speak Japanese as well as I should, this place was very foreigner friendly. The sushi was pretty good and the price was reasonable. The drink prices during happy hour were decent, if it was not happy hour the prices were maybe a little high. The bar seating area had a nice view of the kitchen and the chefs seemed to be working hard to make sure everything came out well, so overall a good place to stop at for an early dinner.
View on GoogleI came in for a bite to eat with my partner last night after speaking at a conference at Nihon University, feeling great. Unfortunately, as we entered, both the host and waitress seemed to giggle at us in a way that felt pointed and dismissive. Throughout the meal, we received odd looks from multiple staff, which gave off the impression that we didn’t belong or couldn’t “handle” the food? I had a good laugh about that afterwords about how silly it would be to assume such a thing. We understand that our Japanese isn’t fluent, but the vibe went beyond a language gap. It felt like we were being quietly mocked or judged? Which would be incredible - perhaps due to our foreign appearance or inability to speak Japanese fluently. Whether it was intentional or not, it made us feel like we were spending money at the wrong place. The service staff did not seem professional and for that I would not recommend it or come again.
View on Googlethis place is just perfect. SO nice to foreigners, great staff, amazing manager that was always happy to see us. they have a machine translated ipad menu in English which was good enough for me and my gajin friends :) me and my friend came almost twice a week for their happy hour and it was always amazing! i brought many friends here and all of them loved this very nice chill place! i miss going here so much and when i visit tokyo again this is on my list! please support them when tourism reopens, but i have seen them be quite busy! love from the us <3
View on GoogleThis is a marvellous place for a laid-back relaxed meal with friends, as the style of this sort of restaurant is very conducive to a good time. It is a sort of tapas joint for the Japanese, and you order little dishes as you go, trying things and finding new tastes. It's a noisy joint, but that all adds to the fun!
