It’s common to find affordable set meal restaurants like this one in areas with universities. Cheap, hearty, and delicious—this place hits all the marks. Enjoy the food and soak in the atmosphere, which feels like something out of Midnight Diner.
View on GoogleThis place is seriously old school, Showa period style, but not like vintage. It seems that the owner did not change anything in the decor since 1979. The food is good - as far as basic, home cooked teishoku goes. You’ll find all the classics - from karaage to Saba miso in the menu. There’s even whale sashimi on the menu (I didn’t try it). If you don’t mind a bit of moldy walls and sticky floors - enjoy the time-slip into nostalgia.
View on GoogleNot bad. Super old decor inside. Feels like a time machine.
View on GoogleVisited on a rainy lunchtime in June 2026. There was one customer already at the counter. The old-fashioned interior is relaxing. The prices are reasonable and easy on the wallet too. I ordered the stamina teishoku. It was delicious. I hope places like this stay around forever.
View on GoogleA place near the station with an atmosphere that feels exactly like a Showa-era teishoku restaurant. Both the interior and exterior show considerable age, and I think it will appeal to people who like old-fashioned diners. This time I ordered the stamina teishoku, but it felt more like a shogayaki teishoku than a stamina teishoku. The seasoning was quite strong, and felt a little salty rather than simply well seasoned. Smoking is allowed inside, so there were times when the cigarette smoke and smell bothered me during the meal. It might be a little difficult for nonsmokers.
