Absolutely loved this soba spot. The noodles were fresh and flavorful, and the owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cozy atmosphere made it feel like eating at a local friend’s home. Highly recommend stopping by!

View on GoogleBack at しらかめ after quite a while. The soba and sobamae are all delicious, and this time I brought my family. We lined up before opening and entered as soon as they opened. There were 2 groups with course reservations that day, and they politely explained that the sobamae would take time. The owner works alone in the kitchen anyway, so I know service can sometimes take a while, and I ordered morisoba. Condiments are sold separately because he wants you to enjoy the soba’s aroma. Real wasabi is essential for me, so I ordered it extra. Just as the owner intends for the 100% buckwheat soba to be enjoyed for its own flavor, you can really appreciate its aroma. The noodles are thin and fairly short. The dipping sauce has a strong dashi flavor and is on the salty side, but never overpowers the noodles. The wasabi is real wasabi, grated softly and lightly. Its sweetness gently wafts through your nose. Above all, you can tell the owner makes soba the star. The other flavors and aromas are there only to enhance it. This dedication is what makes the other dishes delicious too. I was delighted by the wonderfully thick sobayu. Good value too, and the gentle atmosphere of this husband-and-wife-run place feels lovely. A place I want to stop by whenever I go to Kyodo. Thank you for the meal. Definitely returning! View on GoogleSince it had high ratings, I visited when I was nearby. I waited about 15 minutes and was told when entering that “it would take time,” but I had no particular plans and figured it was a soba shop, so I went in and ordered gomajiru. It came out in about 30 minutes, so I guess that was okay? As for the soba itself…100% buckwheat? I could not really detect the aroma, and there was so little dipping sauce that it ran out halfway through. More than the taste or anything else, I was bothered by how dusty the interior was.
