A quaint traditional cafe in Todoroki, you’ll see it after the Chigo Daishi-do and right when you’re climbing the stairs to the Todoroki Valley Shrine. I arrived just at opening hours (1100H on a weekday morning), and there was already a queue. There was a modest selection of kakigori and other matcha-related desserts there. I got the matcha kakigori (¥1000) and it was wonderful. I liked that the matcha syrup wasn’t just limited to the outer layer, and that the deeper segments of shaved ice was also well coated. The matcha also wasn’t overly sweet. It came with a side of red bean paste and mochi. I liked the traditional vibe of the dessert place; the floor was tatami, so everyone had to take off their shoes when entering the place. Take note that the ordering kiosk is located outside of the tatami, but communal slippers are provided. After ordering, you pass the ticket to the staff, and they’ll call your number when your items are ready. In the meantime, they also provide free flow iced tea, which is self serviced. Overall, excellent vibes; it was nice to sit near the window, sip some tea, read a book, and forget about the emails piling up in my inbox. The kakigori was done well too. Definitely recommend to make a brief stop by if you’re in the area.

Closes quite early! It’s always busy - but very cute spot ran by friendly grandmas. The seat next to toilet smelt abit though.

Wow! 🤩 I didn’t expect to find a café here — it’s tucked away inside a temple, which is inside a park 🏯🌳 You walk through the temple grounds, go down some steps, and suddenly discover this hidden little gem. I was so surprised to stumble upon it! The menu looked inviting, so I decided to give it a try. They only serve desserts and kakigori (shaved ice) 🍧🍵. You order and pay through a machine, then wait to pick up your order. When I visited, there were no other customers, and the place was incredibly peaceful. There’s self-serve tea available, and the view is absolutely beautiful — the sound of flowing water, birds singing, and the calm surrounding made it feel like a retreat from the world 🌿🕊️ I’d love to come back again whenever I need a quiet moment to recharge.😌😌😌

Very tasty and authentic Matcha 🍵 It’s very frequented and busy, so I recommend to go during the week day if you want to sit inside. The AC and fans made it quite chilly for a rainy day tho.

Fantastic, special, little place. The staff running the show were absolutely fantastic with me, and the drink I ordered was just what I needed to refresh me during the summer heat.
