世田谷霊園 大吉寺(永代供養墓)Setagaya Reien Daikichi Tera Eitai Kuyo Haka
大吉寺 was relocated from Shinagawa and founded at its present site(Setagaya)in the second year of Tenshō(一五七三)by the priest 縁譽超察上人 under the protection of the Kira family. For approximately 四五〇 years since then, it has flourished through the faith of local residents and continues to be supported by many parishioners and devotees. Its principal image, 阿弥陀如来, was cast in the eighth year of Kyōhō(一七二三)and has been worshipped by many for approximately 三〇〇 years as the Buddha who guides people to the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is easily accessible from various directions, a 二-minute walk from 「世田谷」 station on the 東急世田谷線, facing 世田谷通り, and equipped with free parking so visitors arriving by car can also feel at ease. The nature-rich grounds also let visitors forget the bustle of the city and serve as a place of respite for those coming to pray…

This was my first visit, and the atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing. It's close to the station, has parking, and is also close to my home, so I liked it at first sight.
View on GoogleWhile looking for somewhere close to home, I found this place through a perpetual memorial care website. They also treated me very well, so I chose 『燈』 here. The garden and plants are wonderfully maintained, and I think the deceased will be able to rest comfortably.
View on GoogleDespite being in the city center, this temple is very quiet and peaceful. The perpetual-care grave is also new, and the whole family liked it, so we decided to bury our father here. Visiting brings a sense of peace, so we're happy that our father can rest peacefully too.
View on GoogleIt's a historic temple, and the head priest's explanation was easy to understand and reassuring.
View on GoogleThis perpetual-care grave is inside the temple, gets sunlight, and left a very good impression. I looked at several perpetual-care graves and tree burials, but some were in temple parking lots or looked like flower beds, far from my image of a grave. The perpetual-care grave at 大吉寺 is within the temple grounds despite being in Tokyo, and it felt open and spacious, so I decided on this one.
