We had the most incredible omakase experience at Omakase Sushi Restaurant Nakao in Shimokitazawa for my wife’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was intimate, welcoming, and truly special. Every single course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — you could really taste the quality, freshness, and craftsmanship in each piece of sushi. The chef’s attention to detail and passion for the experience made the evening unforgettable. It felt far more than just dinner; it was a genuine culinary experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. The balance of flavours, the seasonal ingredients, and the care put into every course were exceptional. The chef was fantastic — warm, attentive, and made the celebration feel really personal. If you are looking for an authentic and memorable omakase experience in Tokyo, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Truly deserving of five stars!
View on GoogleMy daughter and I went to Sushi Nakao for dinner omakase. It was such an experience. The fish was fresh and tasty (the toro was out of this world) and Chef Nakao was such a delight. With iPhone translation we were able to learn about the fish and have an interesting conversation while enjoying the amazing sushi. The restaurant is a bit far from central Tokyo, but it is only a 10 minutes stroll from shimokitazawa, where we had a nice walk after dinner and a couple of drinks at the bars. We will certainly be back next time we are in Tokyo, hopefully soon. Thank you Chef Nakao for the lovely meal.
View on GoogleWent here with some friends for dinner and we absolutely loved the Omakase experience provided by Chef Nakao. Upon entry, Chef Nakao served up a variety of delicious and fresh dishes and sushi. The fish was so fresh and everything was made so delicately. You can tell that he cares about the art of Omakase and we really enjoyed our experience here. Chef Nakao also made a great effort to communicate with us using google translate as Japanese wasn’t really our first language. Highly recommend visiting this place if you are in Tokyo!!
View on GoogleBeautiful, delicious sushi. The chef was so kind and says he is learning English to better communicate with his customers. It was a 10/10 experience.
View on GoogleReal cozy, local omakase spot. The chef was super nice and did everything himself. Highly recommend checking this place out for something still high end but without the stuffiness
