Delicious, filling, and affordable. I had a great lunch set of pork belly on rice with a side of soup and offal stew. Everything was really good, reasonably prices and I enjoyed it a lot.
View on GoogleI visited a nostalgic “Nagasaki champon and sara udon” restaurant I happened to find in town. Its yellow sign is the landmark, and I was drawn in by its characterful appearance, which suggested it had been loved by locals for years. Looking at the menu, there were plenty of filling sets, from Nagasaki champon and sara udon sets to combinations of fried rice or pork belly rice bowls with motsunikomi. This time I ordered sara udon. The plate arrived loaded with ingredients, and the thick sauce, full of savory vegetable flavor, coated the thin noodles beautifully. It was delicious. Overall, it was good value for money and made for a filling, thoroughly satisfying lunch. The other sets looked very appealing too, so I'd definitely like to stop by when I'm nearby again and try the motsunikomi and more. They seem to offer takeout too, which should be handy when you're busy.
View on GoogleVisited for lunch the other day! It's popular, so I queued a little before getting in! Couldn't decide between champon, sara udon, or fried rice, and ordered sara udon〜 So many celebrity autograph boards! No idea whose though (lol) Sara udon, I love this thick sauce👍 So good😋😋 Polished off the crispy noodles with the sauce😄 Thanks for the meal〜 I'd like to try the fried rice next time! #長崎ちゃんぽん #長崎皿うどん #皿うどん
View on GoogleI tried it because it's said to be a highly rated champon restaurant. There's a counter and 3 tables. It was after seven in the evening; a table was free at first, but the tables filled up while I was there. Lots of customers were coming and going, so it seemed popular. Draft beer and motsunikomi. The motsunikomi was ordinary. The draft beer seemed a bit poorly maintained. The champon broth was too light and a little unsatisfying. Personally, I'd prefer a cloudy white broth with a rich seafood flavor. I couldn't really see why this restaurant is rated so highly.
View on GoogleOff to Nagasaki champon in Takatsu🏃♂️ My electric shaver broke. It's Takeda. #FirstTheEarphonesNowTheShaverToo After eating gyoza in Mizonokuchi. The gyoza went down like a drink, so I've still got plenty of room. #ActuallyTryingToLoseWeightYouKnow The shop stands alone along the road. You might not find it unless you know about it. This place is famous for its huge portions, so to psych myself up, I entered dojo-challenger style with a “I challenge you!” Inside, the manager and part-timer looked happy, and the atmosphere was really nice. Like the ideal boss-and-employee relationship. What a lovely workplace〜. #ThisOldGuyIsTearingUp Started off with a bottle of beer. What I ordered: ◾️Sara udon (¥1,300) When it arrived, I blurted out “That's huge,” the portion was that impressive. Seriously, I reckon it could be about 3 servings. But it's so good that it goes down effortlessly. The crispy noodles and the moist, piping-hot sauce are irresistible. The sauce has a lovely sweetness. It has a homey feel, so you can relax and eat. I hear the fried rice is good too, but this was my second stop, so I held off. Next time, I'm definitely having fried rice. Thank you for the meal.
