An izakaya along the tracks by 松陰神社前駅. Nothing you eat disappoints. I liked it after happening to stop in on my way back from 松陰神社, and I always visit whenever I'm in the area. It seems to have been around for nearly 30 years, and I like that it retains a Showa-era feel. It's small, so sometimes there's a wait, but with few appealing places nearby, I'd go even if I had to wait. The sashimi and skewers make the sake happy too. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA community-oriented izakaya right near 松陰神社前駅. Popular with regulars and neighborhood families, it's always full thanks to its high-quality, reasonably priced food. Dishes ranging from fish to meat bring out the ingredients' natural qualities and pair beautifully with sake. There are so many menu strips covering the wall that it's hard to choose. It's often difficult to get in on the day, so reserving before visiting is recommended.
View on GoogleThe drink and food menus are very extensive! The “Today's recommendations” change daily too, so you won't get bored. For dishes we thought we might not finish, depending on the item, it was possible to ask about a half portion. All the staff are kind, and it's a warm, welcoming place. It can be full on certain days, so I think calling ahead is safer.
View on GoogleThere are reserved counter seats for regulars, customers' comments posted on the walls among the menus, and an autograph from Giants manager Hara. Somehow it's a warm place with a human touch. The sake lineup is good, and all the food is delicious. This place made me like burdock! lol
View on GoogleIn a word, my impression is of an overly noisy izakaya. You could see it as a lively izakaya full of locals, but it goes too far and the conversations are loud. The counter seating is cramped, and regulars passing behind me repeatedly bumped into me, which was unpleasant. First-time visitors will really feel like outsiders. The food is below average. Prices aren't cheap, just ordinary. It was an izakaya where I couldn't see any particular advantage.
