On my way home from work, I stopped by for the first time in a while to pick up dinner to bring over. It was late, so I thought there might not be much to choose from… but there was more warm food ready than I'd expected, which was a relief. There was plenty of variety, and I was happy to mix and match my favorite side dishes. The place felt clean, the staff were courteous, and I was reminded how grateful I am to have a shop like this nearby. There are many bento chains, but オリジン's food is reassuringly familiar and, above all, has warmth. It's a real help on busy days or days when I can't cook. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I ate here for the first time in several years. I'm grateful you can still get 海苔弁 at this price these days. But the オリジン弁当 I remembered being delicious was somehow underwhelming… I bought 唐揚げ, コロッケ, and 海苔弁, but the fried items were soggy and limp. The 唐揚げ was also flabby and rather salty. I couldn't taste the ingredients themselves, and it felt on the same level as cheap bento from a certain nearby supermarket. When I visited, the area around the self-checkout also looked whitish and dirty with dust, and rather cluttered… I'm satisfied using it for value, such as sales or 海苔弁.

The checkout has changed to an unmanned self-checkout. For freshly made takeaway bento, menus with barcodes hang behind the register. Use one to pay, and a number is issued. It certainly is tiring waiting for people who only start wondering what to choose at the register, and not having someone stationed there also cuts labor costs. So customer-service interaction is practically nonexistent, but that's fine in its own way. It's disappointing that bento prices have risen slightly overall while portions have become smaller… ___________ With all sorts of prices rising, I'm grateful to オリジン for still offering reasonably priced bento. You can order in the shop and take home freshly cooked, piping-hot food, of course, but several types of bento and onigiri are also displayed out front, so buying those saves time. Promotions offer affordable onigiri, and there's a good selection of limited-time and seasonal menus. The checkout is semi-self-service, so people unfamiliar with it seem to take quite a while. Perhaps it's best to ask the staff for help early?

The large portion of rice should have cost more, but the staff charged me less. So kind.
