The legendary karaage "からあげ縁-YUKARI-," which opened its Asakusa flagship store in May 2010, uses no garlic or ginger; by slowly marinating it overnight in a secret special marinade, it's finished into karaage with a solid flavor that's also tender and juicy. The potato starch is coated by hand at the store every day, carefully shaping each piece one by one while stretching the chicken skin, and finally wrapping the chicken in the stretched skin. It's left to settle over time, and then finally goes into the oil. Here lies the secret to drawing out that crispy-outside, juicy deliciousness. The topping sauce is からあげ縁's original "Kiwami Dare," with outstanding umami fragrant with sesame and garlic. A powerful, deep flavor…

A karaage takeout specialty shop under Arcland Service, the company behind "かつや," and run by the same operator as "からやま." It's pricier than supermarket deli food, but as you'd expect from a specialty shop, the contrast between the crunchy, crackly coating and the plump, springy meat makes it fun to chew, and it's quality worth splurging on as the main dish for dinner. As for customer service, as mentioned here and there in earlier reviews, it did indeed give a dry impression. Payment options are wide-ranging: credit cards, e-money such as transit IC cards, and barcode payments.

Visited on the evening of 5/14 The two young male staff, around university-student age, were just really unpleasant. One of them did nothing but stand there with his arms crossed, staring at us expressionlessly. The other was unfriendly the whole time during payment too, and it felt creepy. Overall, something felt off and it was unsettling. I'm not saying a karaage shop needs to provide polite service, but I think fixing their attitude would be for the good of the shop and themselves going forward. The freshly fried karaage is delicious, and since I always came here, it was disappointing.

A chain takeout karaage specialty shop. Part of the かつや group. Probably the same as からやま? The default is 100g for 240 yen, about 2 pieces. It's basically sold by weight, but you can also specify the number of pieces. The default karaage is crunchy and pretty tasty! Its selling point is that the marinade doesn't use garlic, so it's safe even during work. When you want something with a garlicky punch, the "Kiwami Tare Karaage" was pretty strongly flavored, yuurinchi-style, and goes amazingly well with rice. It's kind of sad that a karaage specialty shop doesn't have a karaage bento. Maybe it can't be helped because of space. Since it's part of the かつや group, they were also doing the "Ramen Karaage" collab with 幸楽苑 here, but it doesn't actually use ramen toppings, so I couldn't really tell the difference from the soy sauce karaage lol. The price is the same as the other karaage, so no problem. Thanks for the meal!

Came back again just before noon! Waited about 8 minutes while they prepared freshly fried ones.
