Cha Soba has been around for years and continues to serve a variety of tasty dishes. Don’t like soba? No problem. They also have a variety of rice based dishes. The location is a bit off the beaten track, but it’s not hard to get to from Meidaimae Station or Shin Daita Station. Patrons are primarily locals so I guess it has not yet been discovered by the tourist crowd. From the restaurant it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Shimo Kitazawa. Do that to have a good choice of places for coffee and dessert. Or stop by Hanegi Park. We were too late for the plum blossoms, except for a couple of trees hanging in there, and plumb blossoms petals along the paths.
View on GoogleNeighborhood family owned soba restaurant - they make the soba with matcha - very serene atmosphere. The family are super sweet
View on GooglePopped in here for lunch on a Saturday. Busy, which meant waiting in the lovely garden for around 10 minutes or so. It was a lovely wait, what with the coy pond and the traditional garden. The service was brisk, but friendly. The soba was long, fresh and made with green tea. It was light and perfect for a warm late spring lunch. Would definitely go again if you’re in the area.
View on GoogleAuthentic Japanese soba place. The atmosphere (the garden) is nice. Staff is friendly too. Decent pricing. Refined taste for soba / udon, tempura is pretty good too!
