Il Pizzaiolo
As the name suggests, this restaurant takes pride in its wood-fired pizza. When you enter, you'll see a Japanese-made wood-fired oven, where the pizzaiolo bakes pizzas with care. Enjoy our signature dishes with Italian wine, including Neapolitan pizza, “homemade gnocchi,” and “grilled Angus beef and Iwachu pork.” Terrace seating is also available, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely meal in an open setting. We also offer homemade desserts and hope you'll relax and enjoy your meal through the final coffee.

We had such a wonderful dinner at il Pizzaiolo in Sangenjaya! We’re staying nearby, so it was the perfect local find and such a convenient walk from where we’re staying. I had the Margherita pizza and my husband had the swordfish pizza — both were absolutely delicious. The pizzas had amazing flavor, fresh ingredients, and that perfect Neapolitan-style crust. The appetizers were also so tasty and a great way to start the meal. I enjoyed a glass of wine while my husband had a beer, and the whole evening felt relaxed and special. We sat outside in their only patio table, the server was so nice, and it’s exactly the kind of neighborhood restaurant we love discovering in Tokyo. We’ll definitely be coming back!
View on GoogleA small place with just 22 seats for dine-in. They were fully booked but accommodated me on the condition I return the table by 1pm, so lucky I came early enough, just when they opened. Their menu is in Jap only and they have just 1 staff who speaks little English but I appreciate them trying. Thankful for Google translate that enabled me to know what I am ordering. As usual, the greedy pig in me ordered an appetizer despite knowing I can't even finish the pizza. Luckily, the server pointed out (despite her very limited command of the English language) that they have a 2-course set with a smaller appetizer portion that comes with a drink as well. Service at its best! Got the Fried Shrimp and Calamari for appetizer, I found it odd without any sauce or dip though I must say it's well fried, without the calamari turning rubbery and not oily at all. Not a must-order that I would highly recommend though. Their expertise is in wood fired pizzas and they've certainly lived up to the reviews. The Prosciutto Rucola Pizza was amazing! Thin crust base, with a chewy, lightly charred edge, bouncy to the touch, and generous portion of prosciutto, and that cheese pull! Hit every spot of what I expect and love in a pizza.
View on GoogleGreat Napoleon style pizza restaurant! The cheese and the doughs are so fresh and delicious! Their lunch set comes with a boiled veggie plate with some salt, olive oil and lemon, and I have to say I’m surprised how good it was! Highly recommend this place.
View on GoogleI think the best cheese on my pizza I've had in Tokyo. Everything was pretty good for the most part. I do think the dishes could use a little more diversity but everything was good. The gnocchi was a little soft for my liking but delicious anyways
View on GoogleGood pizza and decent pasta with very nice outdoor seating. Went for an early dinner on a Saturday and we were the only ones there. The vibe on the patio feels European as you sit right against the sidewalk and can watch the streetcar pass by. A bread basket is given with pasta orders, which is another plus!
