Hotto Motto Kyodo: Reliable deliciousness and the true strength of the "Nori Ben" I stopped by "Hotto Motto Kyodo," right near Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Line. It's a great spot close to the station, and it's a real lifesaver since you can quickly drop in on your way home from work or when you're busy. This time, I went straight for the classic "Nori Bento" and "Plus Veggie (salad)". The nori bento, just handed over, had fried items that were truly fresh out of the fryer! The white fish fry was surprisingly crispy and fragrant, fluffy inside, with a reliable deliciousness that makes me happy with every bite. With flavor this perfectly balanced, it's a polished taste you never tire of — so much that I seriously think "I could eat 5 at once without getting bored!" Also, the salad that came with the set had a surprisingly crisp texture, and its freshness really stood out. The contrast between the warmth of fresh-fried food and the cool, crisp vegetables. I could feel the careful work of the Kyodo store, and it was a very satisfying lunchtime that filled both my heart and stomach.

I often get lunch here, but recently during the lunch peak from 11:00 to 13:00, it seems they only sell pre-made items, and you can no longer order at the counter. I figured it must be tough at peak times handling online orders plus in-store orders, but it's a shame because I liked eating freshly made warm bento. Basically all the bento and side dishes are cold, and the containers they use can't go in the microwave. There's a discount, but only about 50 yen, and at this rate a convenience store bento that can be heated up is better. I'd like them to find a way for us to get something warm, like using containers that can be heated or display shelves with warmers.

Been waiting for this! Kyodo finally has a Hotto Motto! Even the karaage bento is under 400 yen, yet it's filling and delicious.

I use it 1-2 times a month, and several times already the rice wasn't ready... If it were about once a year, I'd think it was just bad luck, but... Simply put, it feels like the staff are over capacity. The spaghetti under the karaage is just a few strands too... The quality has dropped a lot lately, hasn't it... It used to be delicious and the portions were bigger... But when I'm tired and such, I can grab something quickly, so I still find it really handy!

The store is clean and the taste is reliable. You can get a bento for 500 yen.
