Drawing on our training at a gyoza specialty shop in Kobe Motomachi, we created our original vegetable-packed gyoza. Our carefully crafted miso sauce is also made in-house using our own blend. We especially recommend enjoying the pan-fried gyoza with our special miso sauce. For the boiled gyoza, we adjust the wrapper thickness slightly for a springy, slippery texture; enjoy them with shiso ponzu. Rather than preparing large batches in advance, we wrap each one after receiving your order. This often means a wait, but it is one of the things we are particular about. We also accept takeout orders by phone. We look forward to welcoming you all.

Enjoyed “gyoza and beer” at 『てんほう!』 in Chitose-Karasuyama on Friday night♬ About a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Chitose-Karasuyama Station on the Keio Line. This gyoza specialty shop, devoted to gyoza for 26 years, is just across Kyu-Koshu Kaido. It has been a favorite since the previous husband-and-wife owners ran it, but this was my first visit in quite a while. As usual, I went with my wife, and we ordered the following. ✔️Pan-fried gyoza×2 ✔️Boiled gyoza ✔️Shiso gyoza ✔️Cheese gyoza ✔️Savory spicy boiled gyoza ✔️Savory salted cabbage ✔️Small rice ✔️Wakame soup ✔️Edamame ✔️Chilled tofu ✔️Bottled beer (Yebisu medium bottle) It would be quicker to write “the entire food menu” (see photo), lol. The gyoza here, which also have roots in “Kobe Gyoza,” characteristically come with homemade miso sauce and green shiso ponzu. The wrappers are extremely thin, and the predominantly vegetable filling still has plenty of umami, with a lovely cabbage crunch when you bite in. The てんほう style is basically to coat the pan-fried gyoza in rich miso sauce and enjoy the boiled ones with refreshing ponzu. They are all so delicious that it is hard to rank them, but personally, I like the pan-fried ones best. My wife says the boiled ones are her favorite. Incidentally, the two of us polished off 6 plates (36 pieces) of gyoza that day. We used to almost always eat around 7〜8 plates, so maybe our stomachs have shrunk a little? Haha. ****************************** 【餃子 てんほう!】 📍東京都世田谷区南烏山6-29-7 徳永ビル 1F ******************************

It is about a 5-minute walk from Chitose-Karasuyama Station on the Keio Line. Actress Sawa Suzuki, the self-proclaimed head of the 『芸能界餃子部』, recommends this shop as serving “gyoza you absolutely must eat.” Its roots are in Kobe's 『神力餃子』, and apparently even the wrappers come from Kobe. The boiled gyoza highlight the chewy wrappers and savory filling, pairing beautifully with green shiso ponzu. The cheese gyoza go perfectly with rich cheese that stretches so far when lifted piping hot that you wonder where it will end. The shiso gyoza have a refreshing shiso aroma and go down effortlessly. The original ones are, of course, incredibly delicious too, crispy outside and juicy inside. The original and shiso gyoza are eaten dipped in special miso sauce, and the sauce's umami is wonderful. Since I had ordered rice, I tried pouring a little on it and could not stop eating. It would definitely be delicious as a dipping sauce for grilled onigiri, too. It is a small shop with only 19 seats, so a reservation might be safest.

This is more a place to eat than a place to drink. Accordingly, there are few drinking snacks, and the focus is on gyoza. You eat quickly and leave quickly. Perhaps because it is run by women, it feels exceptionally clean. I cannot quite describe the miso sauce, but it is delicious. They also have chili oil, soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, and so on, so it is nice being able to change up the flavors. They advertise Kobe Gyoza, but I would say it is closer to Kawasaki gyoza. I prefer it to the sweet Kobe sauce I had at 赤萬. I am thinking of coming alone next time.

This is the place when you crave gyoza! I have been coming since the previous dad-and-mom owners' days, and it is just as delicious under the 2nd generation😋 The miso sauce is especially outstanding and goes perfectly with beer🍺 or highballs. The staff's wonderful personalities make it taste twice as good. Women dining alone can feel comfortable coming in, and families can enjoy it too. The gyoza you enjoy smiling alongside these lovely staff members rank among Tokyo's top 10. Even as I write this, I want to go back. One wonderful shop!

After having gyoza at 餃子館 in Hachimanyama the other day, I became interested in gyoza, so this time I visited てんほう. I arrived just after 17 on Saturday and got in without waiting. There was 1 party inside. I ordered pan-fried gyoza, boiled gyoza, and oolong tea. Perhaps because it was early, this shop also seemed fine with customers not drinking alcohol. While I waited, a few people came for takeout or to dine in. Apparently Watabe from Unjash visited in February this year, as there were autograph boards and such on display. The pan-fried gyoza are apparently meant to be eaten with miso sauce, and they are delicious with it. Honestly, I did not particularly like the miso-sauce gyoza I previously had in Utsunomiya, so I was slightly worried, but here I definitely preferred them with this miso sauce over soy sauce or other condiments. The gyoza themselves did have flavor without the miso sauce, but were not strongly seasoned, so I would recommend having them with it. The boiled gyoza come with green shiso ponzu and are also delicious. They are refreshing enough that I feel I could eat any number. Both the pan-fried and boiled gyoza have conventional fillings, which actually makes the quality of this shop's gyoza clear. However, these are the only 2 gyoza options, so personally, if I were making a meal of gyoza alone, I think I would need 2 plates of each.
