I just found this casual Chinese today being close to the work place of today. I ordered Assorted Chowmein which was very yummy and balanced on nutrients. Recommended.

When I'm close enough, this is my number one choice for lunch. The Chinese food here is excellent, fresh from the wok. There are two lunch choices (plus à la carte). Choosing is sometimes a dilemma.

Visited at 19:00 in the evening, with NHK on. I was torn between this and the Asian curry next door, but the Chinese lady here seemed kind, so I chose this one. The recommendation was the mapo tofu set. I thought I’d go for something intense today and ordered it. It looked bright red, but was easier to eat than I expected. Maybe they make it more approachable for Japanese customers? The white rice was carefully cooked and really delicious. The soup and small side dish, too, of course. Why are places like this so cheap and good? Much better value than chain restaurants. Good for a solo evening drink or sharing snacks with friends. I thought how great it would be if I could drink beer, highballs, and other alcohol. The portion was just right too. The egg soup at the end was gentle on the stomach. I’ll have a bath and go to bed early when I get home. A Chinese diner where sincerity comes first. Love China❤️

Facing Kan-nana-dori and close to the intersection with Route 246. After getting off at Komazawa-daigaku Station, I found this place along the walking route to Setagaya Kannon. I entered the not-so-spacious shop at lunchtime. You choose a set meal from the lunch menu. I went with the vegetable ramen and fried rice set. A woman who arrived later and seemed to be a regular had chukadon. That looked delicious too. There was also a group of 5 who seemed to be students from the nearby Tokyo Gakugei University-affiliated high school, talking about who had gotten into Hitotsubashi University. It’s an approachable place even for high school students, with 900円 as the lowest price. The cook is Chinese, and his wife is Chinese too, with her hair neatly tied up. With every order, the Chinese cook worked his wok behind the counter and tasted the food, giving the impression of putting his soul into each dish. The kitchen is in front of the counter, with a vinyl sheet installed. There are ６ counter seats and around 3 tables, so the interior is small. The food was good, and I’d like to return. It’s about 10 minutes from Komazawa-daigaku Station. There are also Chinese restaurants and ramen shops nearby, making Nozawa 2-chome along Kan-nana in Setagaya-ku something of a competitive spot for Chinese food.

My son (a 6th-grade elementary school student) and I (his father) came to eat on Saturday evening. We ordered the yurinchi set and fried rice. There were 8 types of fried rice, including one with chashu, but for some reason my son chose the seemingly simplest soy sauce fried rice (I certainly wouldn’t have picked it). And it turned out to be exquisite!! It was black, reminiscent of a certain upscale Chinese restaurant in Azabu-juban, with the deep richness of soy sauce moromi. I really hope you’ll try it. Found another incredibly good-value menu option!! Alcohol + a small dish + 3 gyoza for just 990円!! I ordered draft beer, stir-fried garlic shoots, and gyoza♪ Crisp garlic shoots and tender pork with a gentle aroma of pepper^_^ Then gyoza with big wings spread wide arrived at the table♪ I enjoyed a fantastic evening drink and meal. I’ll be back!! Also, there were several customers getting takeout. I thought it would be a good option for people who want a relaxing dinner at home, or who have a gathering^_^
