A place I'd been curious about for a while. Once the state of emergency was lifted, I finally got to go❗ It's a cozy little place, and the owner is probably the woman there. At first I thought she was a bit curt? But she has a true craftsman's temperament, so it made sense. As we warmed up to each other she started smiling and we got along great. And of course, her cooking is perfect! No wonder, apparently they've been in business for 33 years👀 Amazing❗ Everything was delicious, but my top recommendations are the shrimp salad and the hamburg steak. Sooo good~💝
View on GoogleI finally came to this teppanyaki place I'd been curious about for a while. I didn't have a reservation so I wasn't sure I'd get in, but it was quiet, so I was able to sit right down at the counter😌 It was run by two people: a woman who seemed to be the owner and a young part-timer, maybe? She wasn't curt like some reviews say. Everything was delicious and I ended up eating way too much. When I asked for recommendations, I was told that all the dishes under 「チントンシャンオリジナル」 are their own original creations, so I ordered one that suited my taste and it was delicious too. Teppanyaki might seem a bit intimidating, but the prices aren't high. That said, the drinks are priced a little high, so if you drink a lot the bill will add up. Even so, it's way cheaper than the upscale teppanyaki restaurants around Roppongi😄 There's a long counter and table seats in the back, but I definitely recommend the counter. Because it's fun to drink while watching the owner cook on the teppan. It's a fair walk from both Sakura-shinmachi and Komazawa-daigaku Station, but if you think of it as a pre-meal diet, the distance doesn't bother you. Next door is 田中, an iekei ramen shop that always has a line, so many people may already know it. My personal recommendation is the gyoza🥟 The way they make it is unique, and it made me think even someone like me who's terrible at wrapping gyoza might be able to make it this way. It's chewy and really delicious. I'm thinking of going back just to eat that gyoza.
View on GoogleA hidden Showa-era experience in Komazawa, marked by a faded yellow sign. Maybe because the manager changed, they seem to have shifted toward generous, hearty portions. It's basically an okonomiyaki place, but the seafood chijimi, quesadilla served with honey and salsa sauce, chicken with sesame mayonnaise sauce, and more are also delicious. You can take your time over drinks, and it's just the right kind of unpretentious, relaxing place.
View on GoogleGreat food, it's fresh and served from the Teppan to your seat. The Okonomiyaki was a highlight, as were the gyoza dumplings. Pricing is reasonable and service is great. Unfortunately they allow smokers! It's 2022 not 2002..... Since it's a smoker-friendly place, more and more people started smoking, so even though I was enjoying myself, I left early. Because it's behind the times, I've lowered my atmosphere rating as far as it goes. Shame....
View on GoogleThe portions are just way too small! Not worth it at this price. I think only people with really small appetites would be satisfied. Also, the AC was way too strong and it was cold.
